I wouldn't recommend running your car without a reinforcement bar. Not only will your insurance claim get rejected, but the damage which can be caused without one being there...

And did you make a mistake with your question? "has anyone done it without the reo bar and if so how?"

If you didn't if you're going to run the car without the reinforcement bar, you just take it out and that's it. Mount the bumper back on.

It is almost impossible to put a bodykit on without a reo. The main reason being that the bars weight is rested on the reo to help support it. If you do not want the reo as it clashes with your intercooler, then just cut out the required sections.
