Hi Malcom, ive met you before and commented to you about your car, i feel somewhat betrayed by what you have led people to believe the car is. Can you please show some sort of documentation or the like from Nissan to varify your claims about this car. Id love you to prove to me what you have is authentic so i can apoligise to you for doubting your credibility. Id love more than anyone to see this car as an authentic piece as at the moment its looking like some sort of "mock-up".

DIRT,

He's pretty much said that the car in no way is any sort of special/limited/proto edition from Nissan/Nismo or anyone else. But more his vision of what such a car would have been.

And agree as nice as the car is, to come on here and in magazines and claim that it is something that it isn't is very disapointing.

Actually I think he said that back in the day, it was 1 of 3 taken off the production line and used by Nissan or Nismo for whatever reason they saw fit... while technically I don't think it would be any different to any other 33 (back then), I think if they had of seen this car back then as it is now, that is probably the direction they would have headed in :(

Not even close

Actually, I think if the staff at Omori Factory saw this thread, their first remark would be, 'baka gaijin'

This is some crazy skyline delorean hybrid? Built in 1993 with a truck load of 1995 - 1998 parts on it.

Man I would have thought it made 1.21 gigawatts not just a measily 460ps.

i think your onto something there...that may account for the 2 years it disappeared between 1993 and 1995. I wonder if the flux capacitor has a Nismo GTX-1 2500R sticker on it too?

Why do you all care so much about picking the car apart..

Malcolm has stated what it is and there shouldnt be a problem....

It's a nice specimen of a R33 and has done well , It might be a prototype it might not...

What's the point of all your BS posts...

He has put alot of time and work into his car like the alot of you guys have and you come in here and do this to him..

That's a awesome welcome guys you should be so proud of yourselves!! :(

well done (NOT) ;)

word. You got his e-back!

I completely agree with Jess - This car is Malcolm's life. He has spent alot of time, money and effort on it to get it to where it is today.

I do know that in 1993, 3 R33 GTST's were taken off the production line to be made into prototypes. 2 of those cars are either in bits and pieces or have been crushed into cubes.

Malcolm's car is a GENUINE Nismo GTX-1 2500r Prototype.

It is the only one left in the world - so i'm guessing its $$$ value would be close to $100,000 if not more, but what its worth to Malcolm is undescribable!

Its like his child - and you can't put a price on something that means that much to you!

If you have nothing nice to say, please don't say it. As i said, this car is like Malcolm's loved one.

WHETHER YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND/HUSBAND/WIFE, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF PEOPLE TALKED ABOUT THEM LIKE THIS!

Guys I don't think anyone is saying that there hasn't been a lot of work put into the car, or that the car is not a great example of an R33 GTS25T.

Personally i am simply extremely curious as to whether the car is a genuine Nissan/Nismo prototype. For no other reason other than the fact that I'm a massive Skyline fanboy and want to know everything I can about the cars.

I can also see why people are having a go at him, as if it's it not a proto anything and just a car with some badges and stickers, then that's like me buying an R33 GTR, throwing on some stickers, badges a bodykit, upping the power and calling it a 400R.

Or doing the same with an R34 calling it a Z-Tune

i agree with what you are saying...id love for this car to be proven to be what it has been stated it is. No problem, read one of my earlier posts up the page. But there must be some sort of documentation from Nissan/Nismo to prove its worth, its now one of the most contraversial Nissan vehicles on our shores. Without such proof, people are slicing holes in Malcoms and the cars credibility and some of his conflicting statements are making the fact even worse. Not withstanding this car is an awesome piece of machinery and a credit to him, no ones for a moment doubting that, it seems a little sus thats all.

    • GTSBoy on your suggestion on another thread I had a look at those injectors and ended up getting them because of the quality.  Got the expensive ones.
    • Hey guys been looking everywhere to try and find the correct gtr hood latch support part number but only found the first half and when I search with that number it sends me to an r34. The first part I found was 62515. If anyone could help me with the rest then I’d really appreciate it. Or if there’s some alternative hood latch support that would work even better cause I can’t find any for sale. (Searched on upgarage, partsouq, buyee, rhdjapan)
    • If you've only done the upper control arms on the rear, AND you have changed their length (by more than about 1mm) to set the camber you want, then you will definitely need/want to install traction arms also. Adjusting the camber arms on their own WILL introduce bump steer and make the car unpleasant to drive. Most owners have no idea that their car could behave infinitely better than what they put up with. I'm not entirely sure what the Stageas need, but I am thinking that unless you have massive front spring rates and pretty soft rear springs, you have waaaay too much rear bar. Oversteer city, in my estimation. Combined with possible excessive bump steer from maladjusted arms, that could be a recipe for nastiness. ATR43SS2 is not a highflow. It is an outright replacement turbo. It's a little bit bigger than the largest highflow profile that Tao does. Probably a solid 300rwkW turbo where the bigger highflows will be about 30-40rwkW less. Nevertheless, we're only talking about ~300 rwkW, which is well within the abilities of the stock ECu to run with a Nistune on board. I would do so without hesitation - and I will be doing so when I get my finger out and actually get the injectors and AFM installed. But, if you would prefer to drop a whole lot more money on the ECU side, then I suspect you're looking at Haltech. The Haltech fanbois here will all spout on about all the available engine protection you can have, that you can't have with the Nistune option. And they're right. But it doesn't really come for free either. You will spend more money on extra sensors and the like, plus the work to install them. If the engine was built and therefore represented a big investment to protect, then I'd say definitely do it. If you view the current (and forever into the future) shortage of replacement engines as something to prompt similar protection, then also, do it. If you see a destroyed RB25 as an opportunity to put in a Mercedes or other V12 (like I kinda do)... then your perception of the risk/reward might differ. These are good injectors. You can also get a "better" set of the same with more flow matching, for more $$. 1000cc is where you will want to be. You will need an R35 AFM and adapter tube if you want to stay with Nistuned stock ECU. Otherwise, if going Haltech, you can ignore. As for intercooler. Just about anything will do. You're only talking about ~300rwkW. Just put a big core in there. Be aware that return flows do add significant pressure drop and will cost power and will make the turbo work harder to achieve the same goals. If you can manage a proper crossflow, do it. I'm keeping my very good return flow because I'm only expecting to be in the ~250rwkW range, and will live with whatever outcome I get.
    • I have a heap that i have collected if you want some authentic ones still. Pm me if your interested!
