R34 Gtt Rough Idle Only

Recommended Posts

Guest TR34GT

Hi SAU Members,

I've read a fair bit about R34 GTT's running rough at idle.

The answers have ranged from:

  • Airflow meter plug check
  • Check ignition coil packs and replace if necessary
  • Boost leakage check
  • Airflow meter clean
  • Loose intake pipes check

My GTT has been running perfectly................up till yesterday. Now I've got the shakes at idle as well.

The only thing that has ben done to the car before the problem started, was the installation of the induction box we built.

(but I don't see that this could be causing the problem)

I need to know if getting a diagnostic check on the car is really the first thing that should be carried out, so that a whole heap of money isn't wasted on coil packs, etc.

Many thanks

Well its next to the AFM so perhaps that jim?

What idle is it? Does it hunt the idle varing idle slightly as if the air con is on?

Does it idle better or worse on a hill?

Does the car feel slugish?

DECIM8,

The problem was solved in accordance with the attached car care data sheet.

It was the bloody vaccum line. (annoyed that I missed it at night)

Many thanks.

Jim
