what happens in this situation is not dissimilar to normal detonation, the fuel sits in the cylinder because it has not combusted, the engine comes back down off the limiter and ignition is given back to the spark plugs, the compression stroke comes up the spark plug ignites, fuel and air burn, but now you have excess fuel sitting ontop of your piston and once that is ignited you have your self a instant hot spot,

on the next compression stroke if that hot spot is still there your combusting fuel while the piston is still travelling upward in its stroke.

There are two ways to go about this.

set the Bee*R limiter to the same limit your ecu has so both spark and fuel are cut at the same time,

or let the factory limiter do it's thing, its there for a reason, the manufacturer put it there for a reason .

but it comes down to your right foot, the driver, not the machine or the electronics running it, you want to push your car then by all means do so, but make sure you have money stashed away for when you bend a conrod. cause they arent cheap.

The limiter itself is probably ok if used as intended.

Its the silly people that go around altering it to 4000rpm etc, and then deliberately having it slap flames out and so on because they sit with the throttle open/limiter for a few seconds then back off to get the flames and continue to do so for 30-40 seconds each time.

Who would deliberately hold thier car on the limiter? Only a fool, and those are the people that are destroying motors turbos and otherwise :cheers:

To the person asking "IF" a turbo was upto the task?

Never. No turbo will handle the shaft impacts that explosions in the housing/exhaust will cause over time... i would be surprised if it did.

If you use the limiter, as a limit and not as a flame thrower, it'll be fine however.

My 2c, flames are sick we all love em but at the end of the day if your car soes not blow flames from stock making it do so will probably shorten the engines life. i had a straight through exhaust fitted last week and after a good amount of revs at full throttle on decel if just nudge the accelarator as light as ya can it gives a nice bang and a big flame so, maybe try that :P

nice one so blocking it makes more flames? maybe if somone is after flames they can try this and not cause as much damage???? mine is all stock all i have done is bigger turbo,walbro pump, pod and exhaust, the RB family of engines would just about do it from stock wouldnt they? my N/A VL did!

i dont see how it would put more stress on the motor itself. For example, fuel sprays, theres no spark, the piston still goes down on its "power" stroke and when it goes back up it would blow most of the fuel out the exhaust valve on the exhaust stroke. Abliet there maybe some fuel vapour left over, but its just going to get more fuel on the next stroke anyway. There wont be an unexpected explosion inside the cylinder, its just that when the system ignites its next power stroke it ignites the rest of the fuel in the exhaust.

Could be wrong, but thats the way i picture it

So if theres no spark, whats creating the "power" stroke other than the iniertia of the previous stroke with the spark? Im guessing that the inconsistant balance in the power/cut/power stroking (lol) is what causes conrods etc to bend..

Just throwing an idea out there.

Im pretty sure you should google Bee R rev limiter and Engine Failure, the thing would be great if used correctly but most people dont.

I have seen an actual flame thrower which you can buy, why dont u try that?

hmmm in regards to flames.. i got a 'special' cat and mine still doesnt have any flames :down: makes louder pop noises now though when you tap accelerator. could it be because of the catbak i have ? specificaly the muffer thingy in in the middle ???
