hello there,

woke up to go to work this morning found that my car was pulling to the left, checked it and my front left is flat

struggled to the servo to pump it up, but it would not inflate.

question is does anyone here have a spare r33 wheel/tyre or similar that i can buy/borrow to either replace it or so i can get down to a tyre shop??

i'll use the emergency tyre if i have to. but if i can buy another wheel with rubber that would be great :)

can anyone help me out?

Cheers

Steve

If you mean a spare tyre in general I'll help you out. Although Im 4 stud, not much help if you need 5?

Not sure what you mean by you using the emergency tyre, but if Ive got what you need youre welcome to borrow it... Gee that came out a little too forward didnt it :)

Edited to say derr, I should read all the posts before I reply LOL Didnt realise you had it sorted !!

by spare tyre i mean the space saver/emergency tyre (the skinny little one) i was just trying to avoid driving anywhere with it

thanks for the offer mate but being turbo i need a 5 stud

this thread was just a wild stab in the dark to see if anyone had a regular r33 rim with rubber fitted that i could buy as a straight swap without having to f**k around and so i could get to work.

looks like im just going to take the day off and get this one repaired or replace the tyre

No worries, yeah most people are turbo - Im always the odd one out LOL

I had the same problem a fortnight ago. I had to order tyres in and wait which was a pain, so I hope you can get back on the road today!

damn, i hope i dont have to order them in

mario kart on the wii is definatly better than work

now ive just gotta get my car off the ground.

its too low for my hilly driveway, so im gonna have to jack it up on the side of the street, or putt down there with the flat.

its just an excuse to not be a taxi tonight and start drinking beers now :P

Yep Chris, I got it fixed, thanks! Ended up getting both back tyres replaced at Bridgestone. They had to order them but I got the $260 ones, not the Runflats that were on it. Gonna replace the front ones asap too I think.

I kept the wheel you bought, and took the 5 stud back to the dealer and made them buy it back for what the other one cost LOL. While I was there I complained about the rego ending in May, and not July like they said, so I came out with a $200 cheque, so no complaints

good to see you got a bit of payback on the 'dud' spare. had the option as you know for the $260 tyres but as you know they had to be ordered. still puzzles me why they put $480 tyres on that car in the first place.

It still puzzles me too :) Considering Runflats are meant to be on cars with the pressure monitoring system so you actually *know* when its flat... I have my suspicions about those wheels anyway. I dont think the car was traded with them on it... The dealer did say the tyre place down the road from them supplied the tyres for RW, but I think they provided the alloys too so the car would look better to sell. They probably came off a car that those tyres were intended for :(

Your guy actually had an awesome price at $480 though, Bridgestone wanted $700 !!

    • Let's hope that's not a copy pump either. There were so many copies of them back in the day.
    • Damn it, I was at work last night, and stayed in a room there during the storm with the car outside, but undercover, I just went downstairs and well....there was a large steel locker that has come from some place last night, it wasn't anywhere I could see yesterday, and yeap, it landed on the fraking car....of course it did..... LOL So, I'll need to take it back for paint and panel, luckily it was only the boot that took the hit, so it could have been worse Serves me right for staying at work and getting on the cans with some of the boys
    • Yeah, really happy with how it all turned out As for aftermarket lip, nah, I'm not really a fan for practically reasons on a street car that gets driven everywhere  I did have the full lower kit on my 2015 STI, but found the front lip scrapped alot, even at stock 4x4ish ride height As the NC sits now, with the lowest point of the car at 110mm, so just legal, some steep driveways and steep speed humps will still "just" scrap those little plastic OEM air dam thingies on the undertray just before the front wheels
    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
