DONT go to ASE

I went there with my cooler and they quoted me ELEVEN HUNDRED to supply and fit pipes

my costs were $200 to do it myself

Boostwerkx could help you out (they arranged the lipping for me)

yeah I wouldn't say they're the cheapest in town but they did get mine sorted out properly

with my custom intercooler piping i made up a template out of $20 poly pipe and fitting from bunnings and then took it to AAA and it cost $140 for them to supply and bend it up out of 2 inch stainless so for 2.5 inch that you are looking at it'll cost less than $200. Make sure that you use the size poly pipe that you intercooler piping is going to be as it makes it easier for them to get the angles right, and also make sure you deal with the bloke that owns the place and not the bloke with the British accent. Every time he has touched anything on my car he has stuffed it, like a week ago i took in one of the pipes to get a mandrel bend put in it to make it fit my new turbo. He said yep he can do it went and put it in the press bender and before i could say anything put a press bend in my piping. He then claimed that it wouldn't flow less than a mandrel bend and it would be fine, which isn't the point.

So yes they are great but make sure you get the right person serving you.

I suggest you sell the GTR core and buy yourself an ISC kit or even a Greddy kit mate.....saves the hassle....i was looking at getting a GTR intercooler but then decided to get a Greddy one and couldnt be happier mate....all fits nicely and does a wicked job of cooling....you can either spray that black or leave it as it is.....either way it will do the job and i have not heard of anyone getting done for a fmic....touch wood

hahah i got done for front mount gtr cooler!! told me was a direct defect! bullshite

    • No not yet.  Hopefully this weekend if I can pluck up the confidence!  I had to sit in the car at one point yesterday to unbolt the rear struts.  As mentioned in an earlier post when I was putting it together there is still a bit of rotation possible so when I sat in the car, it rotated a little bit.  I near shit myself thinking the whole thing was coming down!  I do 99% of my own shit in the shed but I think I might call on some assistance the first time I spin it!
    • Strong first post. On a Skyline-centric forum. Have you considered actually going out into the world, visiting the actual dealership, and asking the parts guy over the counter? Or at least just call them up on the phone?
    • Should shit that in as for the driver ability probably not
    • Trying to find the plastic under cover for an 04' Forester X. The main under cover that covers most of the front of the vehicle under the engine. This has turned out to be a crazy experience. Normally I can find parts for vehicles, if I have the correct info, no problem. But not this! The Forester is a non-turbo btw. In a Forester parts catalog, for model years 03'-06', it shows part# 56410SA070 as being the correct part. So I go to the local Subaru dealership's website to order it. I type in the part#, hit search and there it is, the under cover. "DOES THIS PART FIT YOUR VEHICLE?" I type in my VIN# and sure enough, "This Part Does Not Fit Your Vehicle. See Similar Parts For Your Vehicle." I click on that and part# 56410SA000 comes up. Looks absolutely nothing like the previous part. Not even close. So I go to a different Subaru dealer website and put in that 2nd part# (56410SA000) and "This Part Has Been Replaced By" 56410SA070, which is the first part I looked up. I thought OK, makes sense. They replaced the strange looking part, with the one I looked up first, so I add it to the cart. "Does This Part Fit Your Vehicle?" I type in my VIN#, and sure enough, "This Part Does Not Fit Your Vehicle." I've basically been doing this with various parts suppliers and dealerships, for the past 4 hours! Does anyone know what the hell is going on?? Thanks in advance!
