SDEWY5
k i got a gt3582R, 620cc injectors and all the other goodies to make the power im looking for reliably (300+kw) but my walbro 255L/H in tank pump is obviously not going to b up to the task. Ive put it in a position in the tank though which is so good i dont want to remove it for a larger replacement. So my first question is, what power will this pump run out of huff? 260kw? And who sells decent surge tanks, does anyone sell the custom fabricated surge tanks on here? Thanks Chris. The Mafia
what the? You don't want to take a shit pump out of your tank because its mounted good? Buy a Nismo 275lph and it will sit even better Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/216271-walbro-pump-gt3582r/#findComment-3821012 Share on other sites

The Mafia
Yea coz the pick up is in a good spot, understand now? no I don't understand because the nismo comes on a factory pump bracket that puts the pickup exactly where it needs to be, and where the factory pickup is anyway. Look up pictures of it and you will see what i mean. I too had a walboro 255lph, and it would not use it for anything over 270rwkw. SDEWY5
ok thanks mate, didnt kno they had their own bracket too. ill check it out thanks still curious though, does anyone know of any "off the shelf" good looking surge tanks, really dont like those dome looking generic ones u can buy. The Mafia
I'm not sure if you'll need a surge tank, check with Guilt-Toy, he has the same setup. The Nismo pump is a perfect install, you won't get any better than that. Munkyb0y
ive got a question loosely related. mafia or nismoid, did you hook the walbro to the standard wiring/running standard voltage and have no issues? theres been some talk of these pumps not flowing to their spec capacity because of voltage drop, and needing to be hooked up to direct voltage or whatever. just asking so i know what to expect if i go with a walbro myself. The Mafia
I don't think the problem happens in the R33s, I tested mine and found it to have 14.4 volts. The R32s suffer the drop really bad, like down to 11 volts, and it almost halfs the flow from the pump. Munkyb0y
cool. do you recommend these pumps? they come with filter sock thing. so its pretty much like straight swap for standard minus the bracket. nuclear_skyline
cool. do you recommend these pumps? they come with filter sock thing. so its pretty much like straight swap for standard minus the bracket. I installed a walbro a couple of days ago, we used the standard braket, and sat it in the rubber boot in which the standard pump is located. Then we modded (so easy) the standard pickup line to fit the bottom of the walbro so it went back into the same place in the tank... Didnt have any dramas... I lie, the plastic srew ring on the top of the tank was a bitch to get back on... Couldnt locate the thread. Other then that, easy install Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/216271-walbro-pump-gt3582r/#findComment-3822673 Share on other sites
msnismo
I'm running a walbro 255 currently... thought I was sitting at around 270 rwkw (old tune, not retuned yet since engine rebuild) but mph at wsid the other week suggests closer to 300 rwkw (12.7 @ 116.7 mhp with alot of traction issues on street tyres so mph should of been higher and time alot quicker lol) I have the same turbo, 550 injectors and a sard FPR.... but I have no fuel issues what so ever at the moment, only at 15psi till tune though.... I'm replacing mine with a 044 but I'm aiming for 350rwkw + , also I have 740 injectors on standby Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/216271-walbro-pump-gt3582r/#findComment-3831651 Share on other sites

cactus
I have a Bosch 910 motorsport pump, which i think flows like 160L/hr or something... I'm making 280rwkw and not had an issue with the setup once. More than enough fuel ! I went 111mph with just 220rwkw back in the day... but that doesnt give much gauge on where the pump is at Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/216271-walbro-pump-gt3582r/#findComment-3832548 Share on other sites
