do you have an SR20? either way I am running a trust T518Z on my SR20 it's currently making 226rwkw on about 16/17psi (from memory). pulls very hard and comes on very nicely. great little turbo.

Got an rb20 but taking my time to decide what to do with it before dropping it in my s13.

i can see that most ppl dont think much of the kkr brand... im looking at buying another cheaper turbo brand this weekend and wanted to know what u thought about it.......

kkk k27 hi-flow turbo, T3 flange, pretty sure its a .63 compressor housing, made 320rwkw on an rb20det

HKS 38mm wastegate in excelent, came off the same combo as above

would be buying both, would this be a good set up on my r33?

i have a full 3ich exhurst, front mount, pod, fuel pump, greddy boost controller, and emange ultimate on the way and will be buying bigger injectors very soon

any advise would be great

When my hi-flow turbo decided enoughs enough, I went searching for upgrades also.

I saw the kkr range and thought, cheap! looked into it more and more. the more I looked into it, I saw people had them replaced again and ended up costing more in the long run. So I decided on the hks GTRS turbo kit.

i run kkr480 with 50mm external gate and done nearly 25,000kms on 19psi no shaft play not a drama with it.. u buy the cheap knock off brands u will get nothing but shit, buy from otomoto and ull get a proper balanced decent turbo. my 2 cents anyway

I too have a KKR 480, RB25 and a Microtech which is tuned richly, mine is a constant headf**k of exhaust leaks, and a mate with a HR31 running a stock RB25DET NEO with a GT2535 (running stagea stock computer too lol), chomps mine all the time.

Its not so much that its laggy (but I reckon a BB turbo would be a fair bit less so), more that it feels like you've got to wring the car's neck to get it moving, and it seems that mine hits around 15psi or so and you can't feel it really pulling anymore (could have something to do with extra kerb weight though lol). I have heard that they have a fair bit of improvment with external gates however. I'm also sceptical about the longevity with these turbos.

I feel like I'm starting from sqaure one again. I got a ride in a 480whp ka 240 and it was amazing. torque....drool...drool. IDK anymore. It was quicker than this.

Hey mate, i had a KKR 430 on my rb20 and it pulled 297.5hp atw, Great fun to drive with cause it kicked in hard, but it is laggy. I am selling my turbo kit right now as i have put in a 26.

For $1200 ONO plus shipping ill sell u my kit which comes with:

-KKR430

-Highmount manifold

-External wastegate

-Cooler piping (no BOV)

-3" Dump with near new o2 sensor

-Oil line (custom)

So all u need to get it running is a BOV, FMIC and about a couple of hours to fit and weld up the dump to ur exhaust.

I bought everything new and i have only had it on the car for about 6 months. The turbo it self is in great condition, and has had the gate welded shut.

Drop as a msg with your email if u want to see any pics of it all.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
