Too long since last F1 thread so I'll start this one up.

So far I've read that Rubens will be given the flick in favour of Ferrari's test driver Massa. It is a possability. Schuey is still there till 05 or 06 plus a team guru's.

JPM will be poached by Mclarens, dropping DC in the process. Webber is linked with a possible Williams drive. Don't think this will happen as Webber's contracted till 05, and price on JPM's head is pretty big.

First casualty of the season is Webber's teammate Pizzonia. Couldn't match the speed that our Webber is dishing out. :D New teammate Justin Wilson may have the speed but hard to tell. Can't judge him and Webber fairly on the season gone as there is a massive difference between Jag and Minardi.

Frentzen may go as he's getting on a bit now but he is in front of teammate Heidfeld.

JV is struggling against teammate Button and may leave. I think early this year he said he will quit if he can't dominate Button.

Trulli isn't all that flash compared to his younger teammate Alonso but team manager seems happy with him.

Fisi may leave Jordan because they are struggling at the moment. Loss of Honda engine supplier may be the death blow but I hope they do pull through.

Panis is also a bit lacking. Can't match Da Matta but never know.

Also the good news that Spa may be back in 04 calander. I think this is an absolutely awesome circuit. Shame about the tabacco law issues they had.

With 5 races left I reckon the Scarlet red Ferrari of Schuey may take the championship again. Williams may have taken the fight to them earlier if they sorted their aerodynamics problem earlier, and the Macs are taking foever for the MP4/18 which will probably be used for a few races before the 19 comes out(what a joke! :D ).

However in the wise words of Murry Walker "F1 backwards is IF, where anything can happen"

:)

ps. add more silly stuff if you want!

how well did montoya go last night!

anyway, bit rough on old antonio pizzonia, they rush these kids straight to F1 way too early so they can have the next rising star, dont provide sufficient support, then drop em when they don't perform. Jags team this year had a total of 1 season experience between their drivers.

And isnt JV an underperforming whinging git?

Didnt Pizzonia get chopped not so much because of speed, but because of silly mistakes like repeatedly forgetting to engage lauch control on the grid.

Isnt James Courtney driving for the Jaguar F3 team??? Imagine 2 Ozzies in the same F1 team!

Stop back and think if Lowndes was able to match Juan Pablo Montoya when they were teammates??? Poor old Craig was about the only team member speaking English, and was only given one season to come to grips with the whole show. OIh well there are plenty of OZzies around the traps now.

As for Coulthard, well im still praying he gets a championship under his belt, maybe next year that is if Ron Dennis sticks with him.

Ever since Irvine left F1, JV seems to have filled into his spot in F1. The guy who talks too much. Little less conversation, little more action please JV.

I think James Courtney is racing in the japanese f3000 this year. Ryan Briscoe is another possability.

Hehe... forgetting launch control... that's just like going to work in your PJ's.... well sorta.

But yeah, F1 is simply in with the fast and out with the slow. I think Jag are being very uncompromising because they seem to hire and fire with the changing wheather. I agree with getting rid of Irvine because of the negative attitude he brings to the team, but the managers like Niki and Bobby is a bit excessive.

Lauder was an idiot anyway. Well thats my opinion anyway. Rahal was a better proposition... but it aint F1 without the politics.

As for JV... he is probably still coming to terms with having slept/been engaged to Danni Minogue (aka Mrs Roy).

I would actually like to see JV in a team like Mclaren/Williams/Ferrari just to gauge if he still has the spped or not.

JV should retire, the car is shit and he is even worse.

DC is also crap, yet things always fall into his favour. He is such a lifeless driver, never pushes, and is just so boring to watch... He never deserves to win a F1 Championship.

Maclarens new car will not come out until next year as its alreadys failed 2 ****pit crash tests... So they are going to develop the 2002 car further and realease the 2003 car in 04.

Also to say that Ferrari and MS will win is a very bold statement... Dont get me wrong but I am one of the biggest Ferrari fans out there, but a team is only as strong as its weakest link, and atm that is the Bridgestone Tyres. Man they suck so bad that any car with Michelan equipped tyres has an advantage. Also RB is a very inconsistent driver and does not support MS well.

It is likely that RB will be dropped next year as Ferrari have not resigned him yet.

The championship is very very close. Next race will play a huge part in determining who will win constructors and the World Champ...

Hungry will be hot and have very similar conditions to Hokk, so watch the ferraris get slaughtered again. If MS looses the Championship lead to JP RS or KR i dont see him being able ot catch up. The only way he can win is if he stays ahead...

It is very unlikely that this will happen as after Hungry is Monza, a very fast track similar to Hokk, watch the Williams destroy again.

So its an axious 3 weeks for me. I hope desperatly that the MS can hold on to the lead, but more then likely it wont happen.

well, its about time the michelins caught up with bridegstone, they were all getting whipped last year. Its no wonder that series move to control tryes though, is it?

And I've gotta disagree on rubens, I think he's a great driver, he has beaten MS a number of times in both races and qualifying,

I've heard around the traps that rubens may be leaving, and it amazes me. Hes always followed his team orders and played his role 100%

I would like to see JV in a ferrari, I guess to finish off what his dad started in a way. One of ferrari's most famous drivers but never won a championship for them (i dont think). I think he still has it but just needs a decent car. Was a big mistake him going to BAR.

It has been an awesome season as well. Its the best one i can remember, not that i can remember all that many. 03' has surpassed 99'. I think it is Montoya and Schuey now. Raikkonen has slipped and hasnt looked like he can win a race for a while now, and he needs to be able to win to get schuey from here. 3 of the next 4 tracks are Ferrari/Bridgstone tracks. Monza been the only track i think the Williams will have and advantage at. As much as id love to see the Montoya or Ralf win the championship i think it will still be a M.schumacher title but a Williams constructors.

With the silly season i can definatly see coulthard getting the arse at the end of the year, i dont really think he has anywhere else to go either. I dont know who would replace him though. Montoya isnt happy at Williams i know that. There are issues between him and ralf, but if he keeps winning im sure he will stay at Williams. If Montoya does go however, say to replace Coulthard i could very much see Williams buying out Mark Webbers contract as they will have plenty of cash left over from Mclarens buy of Montoya. I doubt Barrichello will have his contract renewed, i dont think it would be wise to give Massa the seat. Id like the seat to go to Fisichella or JV.

It was right to get rid of Pizzonia from jaguar, he had time to perform and he couldnt, he had a few years experience as a test driver in f1 and i dont think he has any excuse to be so far behind Webber. I hope wilson performs and get the full time drive, seems like a good guy and got a bloody good friday time at hockenheim. My thoughts anyway.

Lastly, how do you like my action replay F1 avatar? needs some work still.

kimi=big crash wasnt it! cant beleive those guys just jump out and run for the T car after a hit like that....although for that matter I can't beleive they didnt red flag then restart the race when something like 25% of the grid were taken out on the first corner

The Michelin's seem to have the edge when the temps are up. Also don't forget that they have 2 big teams to do their testing for them. Bridgestone probably couldn't careless about the other teams as they will aid Ferrari in retaining the championship.

Frankly, as a Mclarens man I have to say DC is full of hot air. Melbourne win was sheer luck as JPM and KR both had the chance to take that win. Silverstone, if it weren't for that wacko-jacko on the track DC would've been way down the order. I know Ron Dennis and co. won't say it, but they've always favoured Mika, and now have embraced Kimi. If they keep him next year he better perform and deliver the goods cause I'll be smashing my TV is he aint

But yes, this season has me glued to the tele like a fly to sh*t. Last year was obvious who was the man.

I agree with ur comments Silver. I cant see Maclaren holding on to DC for much longer. He has always fluked his wins.

In regards to RB, i do think he is a good driver, no doubt about it as he has shown throughout his career, but he is very inconsistent, i think this could relate to the favouritism that MS gets over him. I mean it must eat him up that he is nothing compared to MS...

Actually my feelings are that DC has always been a little unfortunate. He was always quicker then Mika up until being asked to pull over for him in Japan all those years ago to let Mika take his first F1 GP win. After that Mika dominated... and its reasonable to assume that Mika often got the majority of the teams technical/engineering support. He was also asked to pull over for Mika in melb 2-3 GPs later

Im a fanboy of DC, so youll never get me to agree that he is overrated. he is one of the few drivers in seasons past that would consistantly pull off nice overtaking moves and not be afraid to have a lunge at MS. (Oh... i cant stand Ferrari... or that 5 times champion they have driving for them... )

Came across some interesting info today to do with the F1 silly season. This may sound odd but for financial reasons of FIAT wanting to float ferrari in 2005, Ralf Schumacher and Jaques Villeneuve driving with M Schumacher on the pit wall with Webber at Williams. Remember, you saw it here first.

I think willaims have got the goods for the rest of the season. but yet a again michael schumacher has been very unlucky in the last few races (the guy that ran down the track put him way down the order in the pitstop, tyre puncture and many others that i cant remember right now).

i think williams have come good towards the end of the season just in the right time and MS has just been unlucky and the bridgestones have become inferior at the wrong time.

It'll defenitly be a very close fight for the championship between MS, JPM (maybe depending on the next race ralphy boy and kimi but i think its unlikely)

As a shumi and an f1 fan i hope bridgestone come up with some good tyres to suit the remaining tracks which allows shumi and montoya with as equal as possible equipment.

Jeez whats with the dc bashing im with roy, i think hes had the most ad luck unlike schumi who seems to have situations go his way all the time. IE brazil dc wouldve won that race bar the red flag. and maylasia DC was running second (albeit very early in the race) behind trulli b4 engine failure which he possibly could of won as he was ahead of the eventual winner.

    • Nah, you failed to pay your washer cover subscription and BMW have revoked your access.
    • Haha thanks Lith,  So it's currently working quite well and the torque reduction is setup and working phenomenal. It also got a custom torque convertor from All Fast in WA. Stall speed somewhere around 5500rpm unlocked but still with the lockup. The car went back onto the dyno after a 3yr hiatus (even with the dbw, and other mods completed in this time) managed to make ~515kw at all 4 hubs. Sean setup the Torque reduction which now sounds awesome and working well. We setup adjustable torque controlled launch control aswell.  Man what a feature. Especially when drag racing on street tyres I Managed to get out to the drags late last year and tick a huge bucket list item off of running mine and the cars first 9. Car went a 9.98 @142 Still had the young fellas car seat in the back aswell.  This was on 255/40/17 Nankang AR-1.  Currently the Turbolamik is still completing it's own torque calcs and managing shift times from there. Unfortunately emtrons can export is still a little restrictive to export the ecu calculated torque just yet but I have recently been suggested a work around that I just haven't had a chance to trial yet.
    • Yeah its bad eh. Ey! Watch your mouth. Yep, spot on. The rear's are always gone too though from brake checking. I had them perilously close to a tree that we had taken down. I think the tree peeps may have taken it. Either for a trophy, or accidentally.
    • f**kin' yikes! That insulation is the shittest stuff I have ever seen. You need to do an insurance job on that f**ker, pronto. WRT to the washer cover, I would have said that there'd have to be some at a wrecker, then remembered that it's a BMW, and reasoned that every single wrecked one would have been tailgating and so the front end would be trashed.
