hey guys

I have a pioneer head deck bought around 4 years ago... still good enuf to do everythin so I havent changed it..

I juz wanted to know if anyone knows anythin about the LOUD function on them...

i started using it few years ago and my amp at the time shat itself after 2 days (shitty BOSS 4 channel)...

I've got a mono block alpine running my subs now (heaps heaps betta than boss).... juz wanted to know if you guys think i shud try using it again..

I dont even know how it works but it just boosts the sound like crazy... treble and bass both go mental..

any thoughts?

Don't bother. If you stereo isn't good enough for you without it on then upgrade. All loud does is increase the load on the speakers which means you have more chance of doing damage. It is the same as putting any of the equalizer presets on. If you need it on to sound good upgrade. Just my two cents

My old pioneer deck had 3 levels of 'loud', i found my music sounded best on the middle level. This sounded better than if i had loud off, and turned the volume up more - my belief was that worked like an equiliser. I dont think its going to blow your amp up!

Equilisers are needed on the best sound systems - to tweak the frequency response. Just because you choose pop or rock instead of flat, doesnt mean you have a shit sound system.

trav,

personal preference. I have a 32band on mine that is barely touched.

in regard to the loudness button, leave it off. places additional strain on things as you already know.
