we all know what the standard r34 engine cover looks like

this is after i went nuts with the spray can...

was gonna do the lettering in black but cbf, might do it later on

just thought it might give you people some ideas :D

looks nice man, good job :P

Seen one done in a magazine where he used the old rising sun flag as a design,

My one don't fit no more as i/c piping gets in the way, I prefer it without the cover and it probably lets the heat escape better.

Radiator air deflector would tidy up that engine bay a bit too

was that on the orange mitsu in high octane... that look niiiiice!

i personally like the engine cover, covers up the ghey looking 25.

Rb26's look nice, sadly Rb25s just look untidy and plain

nah... they just need a front facing plenum

I don't mind the Neo covers when done right. Once your letters are painted it will look sweet!

Might be worth removing though, as I have, it's just another thing holding in the heat and there's plenty you can do to clean up the RB25 and make em look nice without the cover.

:D all

Great job R-Spec

What type of paint did you use? High temp resistent paint?

Did you have to sand down the surface on the cover?

used Holts dupli-color auto spray which i got from autobarn for around $12

no sanding, priming etc couldnt be f**ked with it which is why i was surprised at how well it turned out hehe.

just took off the cover gave it a good wash and dry and started spraying. even coats but more so on the dark/black bits. used up the whole can.

cheers

Yeah cuz Iam thinking of painting my inlet plenum black again cuz my mech washed it all off but didn't get the rest.

So I will probley have to thoroughly clean it to get the dirt and dust to make sure its clean as possible then paint over.

So auto barn should have it, thanks, cheers! :P

I think it was an r34 gt-t actually, but yeah can always be copied.

There's also an s15 I saw with the whole engine painted that way, very cool.

Oh, nice job btw.

P.S It would be good to paint the oil filler cap or get an aftermarket one to complete the look I guess, like I said before a radiator air deflector plate makes a pretty noticeable impact on the look of an engine bay too if you're wanting to dress it up a bit
