I know the first pic is the line that goes to the standard boost gauge sender on the firewall (little black box about the size if a pack of matches). Cant help you with the other one though.

the plug may go into your oil pressure sensor,

look at your photo, you can see the yellow thing with a boot on it, pull the boot off an see if its pluged in

nah oil pressure sensor has two spade terminals in a T shape

that little plug is green on the inside right? it doesn't connect to anything lol I'm sure nissan thought it had a job but we've never had it plugged in. hicas solenoid maybe?

yeah that is the sensor wire for the de-fragilator that nissan engineers were unable to obtain clearance to fit to the vehicle. So yeah if the wheel speed sensor is plugged in, it remains unplugged.

wierd toyota engineers found space for that in the 2jze engine bay?

it wasnt a clearance as in fit issue, the inventor, a fella by the name of John Victor Pritchard would not allow its use as Nissan were tight asses and would not pay the required sum to him due to it being a patented item. So Mr Pritchard would not submit the required paperwork to Japanese government to give Nissan "clearance" to use it. Toyota was happy to pay the money as they knew the enhancement it would make to their vehicles was worth more than the patent fee outlay.

what is a defragilator? can i get one for my car?

if you PM Benm and ask him, he knows more about it and may be able to fully explain its function. Bit of a secret science like the Peter Brock "energy polariser".

but i believe it sensors harmonic vibration in the engine and alters ignition timing to reduce the vibration through the crankshaft. I believe this is the very reason oil pumps in these cars are so fragile. Hence the name de-fragilator.

I heard they only used these on VVT-i versions of the 2JZ - they're not that common but if you know a decent importer they should be able to track one down. You need a matched pair of modules though. It's only one wire that you need to run on the 2J but it links to a PAIR of modules. Don't think you can just buy one from one car and one from another because they wont work together.

Also, it is used to help with unwanted engine harmonics as has been suggested above.

correct...but the Toyota versions are a square wave output and the Nissan ecu uses a linear 0-5v so they cannot be interchangeable between makes of car....bummer.

we are looking to develop an intermediate box to alter the square wave output of the Toyota version to a 0-5v signal so it can be used on the Nissan. Once we get it right we will be looking to run a group buy on these, but they are only compatable with R32 and R33 series ecu's.

Not at all, Ben. It's just that I know of a couple of people that have tried to get it working and for the hours invested haven't seen much of a return. Like I said, I'm down for one if you can do it. Good luck to you.
