Unplug Hicas

does anybody know if im able to just unplug hicas ecu to remove hicas ?

Unfortunately it won't go into a default mode where it locks the wheels, they'll just flap about. Get yourself a lockbar, they're cheap and easy to install

+1 for Locker.

Just unplugging the Hicas means it wont hold pressure, therefore wont lock the hicas, therefore rear wheels will randomly wobble and turn.

This is a BIG problem.

Hicas locker kits are about $135 from Just Jap and other places, they take an hour or so to install, and they permiantly LOCK the wheels to stay straight.

Definately worth the purchase.

I got a lockbar for $85, install started with just removing rack, installing lockbar and looping fluid lines at the back of the car. Last time I had my motor out I took the opportunity to rip all the lines out to the front including the big clunky solenoid thing and looped them at the resevoir

my $85 lockbar didn't.so i printed out the tutorial i found on here and took it all to my local suspension

shop and they did the rest.

How about removing the fuse?

Removing the fuse is just like unplugging it..

My lockbar didn't come with instructions but it's pretty damn simple.. remove tierods and fluid lines from rack.. remove rack.. install lockbar.. reattach tierods.. loop fluid lines.. get a wheel alignment.

I removed the rack ends, drilled out some big galv washers so they fitted over the rack, screwed the rack ends back in so the rack could not move then removed all the lines and valves and fitted a r33 power steering pump. biggest cost was the pump, about $50

the rack is not as light as a lock bar, but it was free
