Where To Get Head Gasket Done

hey guys just wondering where i can take my mums car (2000 model st pulsar 1.8ltr) to get a head gasket done. need to get it fairly cheap. ne ideas on what prices i would be looking at and also ne ideas of some places? im in the st eastern suburbs. cheers Aj

maybe take it to the nissan dealaship or any good work shop, there are a few in dandenong (next to mikes gym)

Any mechanic should be able to do it. Just call around for some pricing.

I was quoted about $1000 for my old car, an 86 Mazda 323.

Youre probably looking at least that amount.

Do it yourself easy job just borrow a tourqe wrench

From what ive been told its not too hard to do, however it is very time consuming.

My uncle who isnt a mechanic (tool maker by trade) changed the head gasket on his Ford Maveric 4WD (same as the old Nissan Patrol) by himself. He isnt very car savy but he managed to do it with a manual. Only downside was it took him about a week as he was doing bit by bit after work.
