Hi fellas - hope everyones well

Well finally we have started running again & great to have a full year ahead to work on the car nowsmile.gif

Spent the whole day testing doing nothing but working on clutch set up & launches & really started to pay off towards the end of the day with the last 3 60 foots being 1.26 then 1.18 then 1.17 which is great (best last year after the car was finished being built in august was 1.29). Still think we can get that down further to around 1.02 - 1.05 with more work/knowledge & further runs & more datalogging info.

Determined to work slowly but methodically this year ticking a box off at a time rather than trying to rush things.

wont even look at turning the power up until we start getting consistent launches first.

piccie below from the day & start running in anger in 2 weeks - cant wait

Cheers John

Thanks adrian,

Great weekend for the car this weekend, really warm with track temps 45 degrees,

whole focus was purely to get some consistency to start with instead of worrying about power & really getting there now 8.51, 8.44, 8.39, 8.31, 8.30 all on 1.6 bar boost.

Turned it up to 1.8 at the end & 8.29 with the car going very sideways towards the end (.6 lateral g ) which meant i had to get off the throttle for 1 sec which cost us time.

Run again in 2 weeks - really looking forward to getting back in her now

Looking very nice, John!

the cars can, most guys who drive them get a bit confused when the car isnt pointing straight. Adrian is a good example, you should have seen him in my go kart, very funny. good luck with the stup mate.. power sure is not a problem.

:spank: who said drags car cant drift :P

A race track is no place for corners. thats my excuse anyway cause i was terrible.

Awesome weekend for the car even though the last 2 days were rained off :(

Qualifying Fri/sat with eliminations starting Sunday pm

Friday we had 3 runs 8.11 @ 166, 8.14 @ 165 & 8.16 @ 170 & lay 2nd in qualifying overnight

Sat crap first run with me asleep 8.6 @ 173 another 8.14 @ 166 & then we said ok got the consistency up the boost from 1.8 to 1.95 for the last run.

We were lined up against a 7.7 sec Ford probe which has been around for a few years & a bloody good driver so my backside was twitching a bit

Both got cracking launches (his 1.12 & mine 1.15), halfway i'm 6/100ths behind & then at the 1000ft mark whoosh i get a windscreen full of water from a split hose, engine off straightaway, gearbox in neutral expecting the back end to bite but thankfully the water went up & not down so glided to the end of the run @ 8.14 @ 148 mph. The other car completed at 7.8 @172, worse case we might have slipped to a 10th behind him if we had a clean run.

car was fine, no issues with water temps so new hose sorted for the sunday & bugger rained all day so no racing then today rained all day so no racing :) - have to wait 4 weeks now for the next one.

So 5 8.1 runs out of 6 over the 2 days which is great & really chuffed with the consistency.

Hope to carry it on & at least when we do get into the 7's we should be there consistenly.
