FMIC on an R33 GTS25T without butchery?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Does anyone know if any of the commercially available R33 FMIC kits can be fitted without cutting the steel front bumper support? I am happy with trimming the plastic front bumper, but understand that its illegal here in SA to hack the metal part.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I think most jap kit FMIC requires no major cutting as labour is expensive in japan, so everything is a straight fit with only spanners and screwdrivers. But you gotta pay the price though.

peter wilson.

the hybrid intercooler kit doesnt need to cut the front bumper support. I am selling the whole kit include intercooler, piping and clamps for $1100. have a look at the group buy section if you are interested.

You will struggle to fit a large cooler in without cuting the bumber support, there is not a lot of room between the bonnet support and bumper support. You would find im guesing that the GTR suppost has been cut out from the factory and may bolt on.

hmmm.. most of the kits still require that cut to get it around to the front. Just do it .. i wouldn't worry about it too much.. just about any import that has come into the country with an aftermarket FMIC or frontbar has had the support cut in someway.

u have to have atleast 1 hole behind the water washer bottle for the return pipe!

the ones that use the stock return pipes are shit

theres nothing wrong with cutting the front bumper. it doesnt affect the strength of the car anyway.

and I agree with Instants comment.

The FMIC which uses the stock return pipe is very inefficient and have at least 2psi pressure drop at 15psi
