Hey guyz,

Just got a small problem ive been noticing lately that when im pushing to car hard from around 5-6 1/2 rpm the car sort of stutters like maybe the car is trying to boost too high or not getting enough petrol what do you guyz think it might be or what can u recommend.

I have a 33 mods include greddy fmic, apexi pod and full apexi exhaust turbo back.

fuel filter perhaps? probably the easiest thing to try...otherwise maybe your afm is on its way out.

if your car is trying to get to higher boost then watch your boost gauge....if its spiking at all.....if you havent got a controller on it then it shouldnt be spiking.

With my mods it is usual to hit .70bar of boost, still running on the standard boost controller?

depending on what boost you are running.... possibly coil packs, guessing they are std???

Plenty of threads on here regarding coils breaking down if it is :D

oh just noticed std boost - 7psi.... which 0.5 bar..... 0.7 is about 9-10 psi...

could be a spark issue.... my std coils broke down at 12psi....

I thought they had a normal mode, and high mode? ... At a certain RPM the boost would increase from the standard 0.5 bar to 0.7 bar?

But yea, i would b checking the following

1. Fuel filter (most likely not the problem, but its cheap and easy to replace)

2. Sparkies

3. AFM

4. CoilPacks

Let us know how it goes.

Yeah I'm pretty sure its 6-7 before 3.5, and 9-10 after 3.5Krpm

They are 5 psi till 4000rpm or round abouts (can't remember and can't be bothered looking at my workshop manual!) then 7psi after that

Dual stage, although most have already been ground out and run the 7psi all the time

R32 gtst's run 10psi

Try the process of elimination, beginning with Ms. Nismo's advice

Turn the boost down and see what happens, and change plugs.

awww fanks! Yeah definitely change the plugs whilst your looking in that area!

Take notice of the plugs... if a certain one or two are fouled alot more than the others then its not firing properly in that cylinder, so check those coils first...

You may just need to regap your plugs to a smaller size i.e 1.1 down to 0.8 or better yet grab some copper ones already gapped to 0.8. They are only a few dollars each. I have new coilpacks, new engine, new turbo, new everything basically and I still run 0.8 plugs!!

I ended up gapping mine to 0.6 with the dodgy coilpacks whilst waiting for the splitfires to arrive... sorted the problem temporarily.

Buuuuuuuuut its an elimination process... start with what's easiest for you and work your way through the list... you will find it eventually!
