Fibreglass cracks alot easier then plastic, which is why most fibreglass kits u can see have been cracked. However, they are much easier to work with and repair, so it isnt too hard 2 fix them up and repaint, and are much cheaper to buy. Plastic kits are also much harder to find, and more expensive. Take it easy, and ur fibreglass kit will be fine

I was at a shop today that had fibreglass kits laying around ...my first encounter with these things. And the quality appears horrible. They felt VERY thin and flimsy .. eg. if you dropped it from a height of 1m I had a feeling they'd crack in 5 different places ...

I don't understand why aftermarket kits aren't made from plastic ... is plastic really that expensive ??? I would have thought plastic to be a really cheap material.

The cost is mainly in the mould. As most major companies will use injection moulding to create panels.

As stated by NA Goodness, fibreglass is cheap, strong enough (if laid correctly with enough layers) to withstand normal driving conditions and easily repairable so you shouldn't have any dramas.

Fibreglass isn't as strong but great way to save weight. The difference between the stock front bumper and a fibreglass one is huge. i'd need two hands to lift plastic one comfortably where as I can do so with 2 fingers to the fibreglass one.

Fibreglass is easier to repair but they get damaged fore easily.
