say you had an crash involving other cars, and you were at fault. They later on inspect your car and find non ADR brake lines. What do you think will happen next?

Unless the brake lines where the cause of the accident then can do nothing....unless you are with a dodgey insurance agency. Shannons is the only place I would be getting insurnace from.

Iam running the ADR approved brake lines in my GTR, the cost was $400 for all 4 fitted with brake fluid etc. Definetly worth doing it right the first time.

I'm guessing it has something to do with grabbing your ankles and an application of KY to an area where things like that are not supposed to happen.

What's stopping any insurance company from seeing non-ADR brake lines and going "suck a f**k"? You are going to have an uphill battle proving in court that NON-approved brake lines are still safe. Why do you think they have approved products?

Spend a little extra, and then you don't have to worry about it. Insurance companies are a BUSINESS, not a charity. If they don't have to pay a claim, they won't.

Is there any other kind?

And they can do plenty. Pretty much every policy I've read says that your road car must be street legal. If your car isn't street legal, they reserve the right to void your policy. It doesn't need to be "related" to the accident. This isn't a warranty claim. This is a contract, and your non-ADR brakes just broke it.

Most of the time its not enforced but if you crashed into someone they could claim it was your failure to brake....and if your brakes aren't legal, you're f#%ked.
