Face Plate Freezing On After Car Is Off

recently my stereo face plate is freezing after i turn the car off...alot of fiddling was done around the wiring area and new things have been wired in aswell...the head unit usually blinks red while the face is off but while its frozen it doesnt blink..having to disconn and reconn battery to get it working is a pain in the ass..the lights stay on and music still plays but no buttons or volume etc etc work.i figured just take the plate off and everything will be fine but when u refit it its still frozen..is this common? head unit is panasonic!!!thanks for any help im hopless with electronics.

i had this a few weeks back, but it fixed itself before i got a chance to take a look at the back. i think i must have had a poor connection at the back. pull your h/u out and check your wiring...

(otherwise just whack it a bit)

yeah there was a week maybe 2 were it didnt happen at all..then it just decided to start again...

if so the ribbon connection is breaking.
