Folks,

06/08 registration.

City Fuel Consumption 10 (lt/100km)

Since this is my first car in Australia and I need to know if that car is worth 7500 AUD. If not what should I offer?

I can see that it is 10+ years old car but the KM is what attracting me, which makes this car equal to 2002 Model with 100KM. My view is positive to this car just because of KM and its lady drived car and very neat.

Fast reply is much appreciated as I need to make offer tomorrow.

Cheers,

Ricky

Uhhh... Your asking about a camry on a Skyline forum?

$7,500 for a 12 year old car? Its almost at 100k, has it had its major service? If not your looking at another grand.

I don't know much about camry's but I wouldn't buy it myself.

Maybe offer $6k? I dunno.

as Lachlan33 said find out if its had the timing belt done other wise ur up 4 an extra 400 min. i dont think they r worth that much posably round the 5 ish mark but thats just my opinion. have a look on places like the trading post, car sales and other sites to c wat models like that r going for

im pretty sure toyotas dont need timing belt change till 140 000km, as they use a metal chain instead of a rubber belt... more durable but of course they are a tad heavy

Other then that, to know if a car is worth it,,, u really got to see it, inspect it... etc... cant really tell over a forum.

Get someone that knows cars to come and inspect it for you.

with that price range you could prob pick up a non-turbo auto skyline R32-R33

yeah but Insurance, Quality, Economy, Age, Local availability of parts + servicing etc. is going to be the benefit over skylines for the given price..

I would be pretty sure he's going for the camry for a reason.

Check out www.redbook.com.au - generally quite good a barganing tool when dealing with pretty common/local cars.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
