The reality is that any of the high end oils today are well and truly better then what was used when these cars were new so pretty much all synthetics will work fine as long as you choose a sensible viscosity

Personally I just buy whatever is on special. Mobil 1 is on special at the moment at Repco.

hmmm, just checked and found that my mechanic used 5w30 in my r32. Should this be fine you recon?
mostly daily chugging in traffic with only occasional spirited take off and bash around in the hills.

    • If that's the wiring from the factory, I'd be inspecting the loom everywhere.   Any signs of that anywhere else, and seriously, I'd get rid of the car ASAP before the electrical gremlins make it worthless, or it goes up in flames on its own. That is scary how that insulation is failing!
    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
