Cracked Weld - Recommended Aluminum Welders

G'day guys just looking for recommended aluminum welders as I have a crack in the welding of my front facing plenum.

I was sent a bracket from the plenum's manufacturer that needs to be used for the repair but I am worried that it will look particularly average. Are my concerns justified?

im not sure why you would put a lap join patch over it.....id just clean it right up and run the torch over it to pool it in

Racepace has a top notch fabricator, well versed in Ally welding - maybe pop past?

But yeah, i dont think you'd need to weld an entire plate over something like that

Thanks for the replies. The plenum manufacturer sent me the bracket as he believed it was necessary for the repair. I sent him the pics I have posted.

I guess I will drop in to Racepace over the next couple of days and see what they recommend.

might not need the bracket but it will definately help. i think bd4's or sub-zero did the same thing on the HKS drag car when it was out here coz it had a crack along one of the welds

I think Trik Fab in Dandenong would be able to do it.

They may be recommending the patch plate as they have seen this cracking occur before, and feel that there is a weakness in the plenum at that point.
