The RB25 NEO has more power, doesnt it? Then get that. Otherwise, the RB25 from the R33 is cheaper, and easier to find. If you're going to do this, why not put in an RB26? More power, similar cost i think. Its up to you tho.

I have 25det NEO in my 31  .. you can find stagea versions cheap as they need sump mods to remove diff section and most folks shy away as its not bolt in ..

GO THE NEO

depends on what you want with the car.

If you're just running stock turbo etc, just go with the r33 rb25, its much cheaper.

If you're wanting to push it a bit further, go the neo, it has solid lifters and gtr rods from factory

not sure but...you may need the ecu from a 34 or some piggyback computer on the 32 to get the best from the varible cam timing on the neo. i have the 32 ecu with SAFCII, neo head and 30 block seems to work OK but it depends how much drivability/reliability/power you want.

  • 2 months later...

i'm in your boat... i'm about to lay a deposit down on a neo25 for my 32... went for a drive in the 34 the neo was in a few hours ago... has so much more power down low than any 33 i've been in... had mild mods , zorst, intercooler, 12 pound boost and a powerFC... SET ON A MILD TUNE... it found 220kw at the rear tread...
