hey guys

ive bought a rb26dett for my s15

the motor has spun a bearing so im rebuilding it before it goes into my car. the engine has

hks cams

hks cam gears

i want to make 400hp atw what do i need to do in my rebuild to make that power, and is the r33 gtr crank better than the r32 one? and also what turbos would be suitable for this with out lag.

forgies, preped standard rods, metal headgasket, good set of bearings, oil restricitor, freshened up head (new seals etc) set of hks gt-ss turbos.

rebuilding an engine rarely is the thing that makes power, (other than head mods etc) forged pistons and rods etc dont make any more power they allow the engine to be more durable at higher power levels. A set of forged pistons, new bearings and rings, N1 oil pump, crank collar and a reco'd head is all you would need chasing 400hp. Id use HKS GT-SS's or 2860-7's for good low down grunt...with these turbo's id put stock cams back in it too and dial them in correctly with your cam gears.
