RaZ_TuRbO
I recently did a rb25 conversion and used the rb20 rocker covers as i didnt have any 25 covers, now from what i understand the rb25 covers have alot more baffling, im getting my catch can fill with oil rather quickly 200ml after 60kms of hard style driving... could this be a case of baffle difference between the 2 covers? Cheers? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/217928-rb20-rocker-covers-on-rb25/ Share on other sites
bubba
They have raised sections at the back to help the oil separate. I know when my mate first built his 30 he used 20 covers and it would breath a LOT of oil, swapping to 25 covers fixed it. Cjmartz2k
How do RB26 valve covers compare to the above mentioned? Just curious--I'm running those on my RB25. Gts-t
Seems a bit odd, since my rb20s doesnst breath f**k all oil Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/217928-rb20-rocker-covers-on-rb25/#findComment-3846432 Share on other sites
bubba
My guess is it's a 25 head issue.. but that being said, Raz's is a turbo head and mine (my motor is the original 30 that was in my mates car that breathed oil until the covers were changed) is a non-turbo head. Without the raised covers, with lots of revs it would breath a LOT of oil Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/217928-rb20-rocker-covers-on-rb25/#findComment-3846662 Share on other sites
Roy
Seems a bit odd, since my rb20s doesnst breath f**k all oil Mine doesnt blow a drop of oil either and my god how i have upped the boost nad rev the bejezuz out of the thing at the track trying to keep up with the big boys I have at times thought it might be as simple as the RB20 rocker covers not allowing blow by to get to the catch can as readily...but ppl are saying that its the opposite ? RaZ_TuRbO
Just put the RB20 back in, problem solved Seriously the rb20det that was in it could fill a catch can in 400m of driving! I tried so hard to find a rb20det at a reasonable price roy trust me.. couldnt find one in good nick anywhere in qld! hopefully its just the baffles ill get them during the week and keep you posted, might prove bubba's theory??? cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/217928-rb20-rocker-covers-on-rb25/#findComment-3846894 Share on other sites
PM-R33
Jesus i cant believe how quickly you guys are filling catch cans up, you sure its a baffle problem in the covers and not f**ked rings or something? I have about 5 drops of oil in my catch can since i put it on which was over a year ago. bubba
My motor is absolutely fine, doesn't breath any oil. When it had the 20 covers on it though, it pumped out so much oil it wasn't funny.
