Hi. Im posting this up for Adam (cheffstagea) as he is currently at work and will be till late-as hes a cheff duh! So he was hoping to have some replies when he gets home.

He says his sereis 2 stagea is having the following issues:

It does not not drop gears when planted.

It feels like its taking off in 2nd.

A/T light flashes 15 times on startup.

In tiptronic mode 1 and 2 still have the sluggish feel.

Also feels like the clutch might be skipping.

He also tells me that the fluids seem to be fine and Yes he's checked the attessa resivoir.

Any one have anyideas?

Thanks in advance.

I'd say start with the simple things first, like check the level and condition of the A/T fluid. Make sure there's enough in there, and make sure it's the right colour.

Beyond that, maybe try reset the ECU?

Sorry I can't be of more help, I'm not much chop with Auto boxes.

check the snow switch on the console the missus keeps knocking it in ours and its as sluggish as ie takes off in second etc

what would your missus be doing in chef stagea's car? :D

Nice call hahaha....

Cheff and I both agree their is alot of room in the back of the stags.... I seem to think the majority of stag drivers have familys and are older than cheff and I 18.... So your missus is sort of out of the question, but your daughters.... We'll leave it their :) haha

got home eventualy! so the at light goes on as usual when u start up. just like airbag etc comes on n shortly after they all go away. exept the at light goes on for bout 2 sec then 15 flashes follow it. it wont go into 1st or 4th. seems like the thing that tells it to change has gone to sleep. what do i do :S all those pages ment nothing to me :$ and im ment to b running a stag cruise on sat!! HELP i thaught it might be snow switch but its not. 2nd intercooler pipe fell off.. not that either. in trip tronic i cant select ANY gears. the only way to choose 2nd or 3rd is the actual place on the gear stick. and when its in D its just the same as 3rd (no jolt to indicate a shift or revs dont change) reverse seems to b fine btw. and also is it safe to drive at all :S i limped home but duno if im keen on that to often chers guys

btw fluid is full, and a slightly transperint yellowish colour :S this normal? and re setting the ecu. battery off. break a few times? will that do it?

i did that diagnostic thing. and i think ive worked out that shift solinoid b is dead. how do i fix this? i called the shop i got it off and they said being it down but who knows? ne thing i can do my self and if no how much am i looking at? cheers guys. also where is the shift b solinoid

    • Welcome. This is not really true. We have a whole forum here just for the NA shitboxen. And they are not very different from the turbo shitboxen. Just weaker brakes and gearboxes, and no LSD, for the most part.
    • I'm pretty sure it has an 040 in it @Duncan Also reading up, that turbo should top out at 250 as you first thought. It will be interesting to see how early it chokes due to the changes in the head too
    • Yeah confirmed they are Nismo 555s, found the boxes in the spares with the factory injectors in. Yeah the AAC has been relocated to allow reuse of the factory brake booster line, and yes confirmed it has a 1 way valve in it. Unfortunately the one on the car is cracked, I'll need to replace it. Pretty sure I've got all the AAC plumbing correct in my previous post, but I am going to source some new fittings with 90o angles to help with the hose routing and also one really specific moulded shape for the AAC intake to cold start hose (will raid the back of our local repco when I get a chance and work out some combo that works) One of the big things I learned in the GTR is you need to be able to get your hands all around the bay when something goes wrong. I've done a bunch of re-routing now and it should be much more practical now. Also got the BOV mount re TIG-ed by the local engineering shop so that should be good to go now. Never got to the fuel pump because of some life stuff today, but will pull it to confirm it is suitable for 300rwkw when I get a chance
    • Hello everyone, I am from Malta and have recently bought myself a fully stock 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS. It has the RB20DE engine and thus is NA. Unfortunately, not a lot of information can be found online related to the GTS, unlike the information for GTS-T and GTR variants. Apart of the Skyline, I also got a 1984 Porsche 924 2.0l NA and a 2002 Renault Clio 1.5DCi for everyday use. Excited to be apart of the community and perhaps get better information on cars such as the GTS.
    • The fuel pump bracket just slides straight up.  Below is a pic I stole off a site. But basically put hand in for fuel pump, wiggle it all about a bit while pulling up.
