Anyone able to tell me how the ecu controls boost btw? Currently have a manual boost controller myself.

an aux output of the Vi-PEC controls a soliniod...by varying the on/off ratio of the solinoid it can adjust the boost pressure between the maximum and minimum set...just like any EBC.

It requires a 3 port Mac valve soliniod...it uses the std wiring to activate it if using a Nissan style plug in Vi-PEC ecu.

Gus, the V66 was a nick-name that floating around here for the Skyline plug-in board. It is basically a V44 with 6 injector drivers. It is a plug-in board. If you go to their website and look at the Skyline plug-in board there are all the specs there.

correct

why bother getting a power fc then have the extra expense of buying a boost controller as well ??

Vi-pec has the boost control already built into it as well as launch control and now antilag

power f/c old technology

Vi-pec new technology

also if you want to get rid of air flow meters with power fc you have the extra expense of getting d-jetro

all those extra's would make the power f/c more expensive over all

agree...you wouldn't buy a PC for your home that was designed and built in the 90's...so why would you consider a computer for your car that was.

Keep an eye out for power fc's you can still get them reasonably cheap if your patient. got mine today for $950 with hand controller only 1 week old

This _is_ just a re-branded LINK, right? so is it the G4 or G4 Storm or ?

second question: everyone in this topic appears to be from everywhere but NSW

so who in Sydney is ready to put tunes on this (or the Link G4 storm).

Again...this is NOT a rebadged Link...contact Scott at Insight in sydney for supply fitting and tuning.

thanks,

Sorry to continue to be skeptical, but it has the same length and height (to the mm)

same processor (same megahertz) same inputs both analog and digital. Same "max rpm",

same feature set, although the website is presented differently so it isn't easy to compare.

The same connector on the case..

You don't just accidentally develop in parallel the same ecu. It is immensely expensive

in R&D and software.

Whats the real story here? someone bought the australian marketing rights but wants it

to seem like a locally developed product for added zing?

r34nur has got a point....I mean if it looks like a Link, smells like a Link, then it must be.......

No amount of camera angles are gonna convince many people otherwise

Well, I called an NZ Link tuner today, and they confirmed that, yes, vi-pec is

a link (of course). They didn't want to comment on why vi-pec was masquerading

as something new. I smell a story for anyone who cares to dig :)

so basically if you have a link G4 you have a vipec, and vice versa.

I don't really get the secrecy. It turns me off the product: if they are

want to pretend it is their own unit it doesn't give me a great feeling. So I'll

see who can tune Link G4 Xtreme in NSW, it looks like a great product!
