So why do we have a Vi-pec product with an afr table setup and autotune like the autronic ecu's, i think i see were the "influence" is, Its taken straight from Autronic and injected into Vi-PEC ;)

fixed

incase you didnt know.. ray hall the main man behind the devolopment with the vipec was actually the main man behind the devolopment with the autronic, which is why you'll find all of ray's old autronic dealers.. are now vipec dealers.

Sorry but Ray Hall was only an Autronic Dealer with his own dealer network, he needed to have an ecu that his dealers could use so thats why he influenced Link to have the fueling control setup like the Autronic. This is were the G4/vipec ecu's came from.

The man who develops Autronic products is callled Richard Aubert, nothing to do with Ray.

Ausy Made needs to be removed from the main post heading as that is a lie.

Rays sema stand even included a man from Link NZ.

It looks like the main thing differentiating Link from Vipec is the plug-in ECU. I'd say the base board used to connect the factory loom to the processor board is a Vipec only board.

Either way, who really cares if it's Link or Vipec. Let's get on with talking about the technical details and the results people have had so far :P

After my Vipec was isntalled and tuned I discovered I had an inlet gasket leak. After 2 f*((&n painful days I changed the gasket, started her up and she idled straight away, but lower than before. I went through teh open-loop idle tables (used as a starting point for idle control) and bumped it up as the engine warmed up. Now it runs better than ever! Idle control really is a very strong point of this ECU. Hopefully I can give it a dyno run next week and see how it goes now the gasket is fixed :)

Oh yeah, those who are wanting knock control with the plug-in ECU, I emailed Ray and he said they can sell an amplifier board for around $240 or you can make one yourself. I dunno if I can be really bothered now though. It seems good as it is..

On the topic of support...Ray replied to my emails within 12 hours. Pretty happy with that.

from my experience, the support and customer service for me has been fantastic. Lincoln has been more than happy to answer any questions i have had and help out with any issues i have encountered. I couldn't recommend him enough to anyone looking at purchasing one in NSW.

How did you go getting to work in the morning ? was cold start ok ?

My very first cold start the morning after a couple of hours dyno tuning required some very slight adjustment to the acceleration enrichment in the warmup section of the map, mostly due to the 800cc injectors. After that it's been fine. Has been in my daily driver for 2 months and about 4000km of mixed city/highway driving now.

The cold start will need a little bit of a tweak, and the idle screw does need to be adjusted. but other than needing a couple more cranks than normal and running fairly rich on idle it ran fine.

I can have another look at it tonight, fix the idle up and play with your cold start for you. give me a call the same time as last night

Had a go yesterday you can get up to 4000rpm (foot to the floor) but above that still needs a bit of tweaking.

You wouldnt happen to have a 3G mobile phone would you ? Wouldnt mind having a toy around with it while your driving it instead.. I don't think guess work is going to be effective for boost like cruise and cold start was.
