Quick few questions

Tracing an AN2 Voltage error on the IAT Sensor, the sensor is reading negative temperatures for fractions of a second and then returning to normal, this appears to be linked to my break down issue.

Will trace the cabling and check the sensor voltage as well, any tips on what to set the multimetre at for this? Also just wondering my car also appears to be running a bit hot as well, getting up to 95c on the standard radiator, and this isn't flogging the car either. Running thermo fans, just wondering is it possible my IAT issue is effecting when the thermo fans cut in (controlled by ecu)

thanks (this is on the v44 plugin board ecu)

After asking many questions at workshops, i think this thread has given me the definative answer on which ecu i'll be going for. V44 wins hands down over pfc (considering exchange rate and not chancing it on a fried 2nd hand unit). I think Dirt is right, everyone is a little apprehensive about new products, but when you have both Dirt and Guilt-toy and a few others vouching for this product and the benefits are in front of you, it can only be a good thing

maybe now's the perfect time to use that multi million dollar support you paid for

I've got no issues with the support ray got back to me the same day, can't beat that, just really after other peoples experiences. Both the tuner and ray said the same thing, ie check the IAT wiring to see if it has been pinched etc.

can it run automatic rb25? or run in piggyback style, due to auto ?

cheers

Runs in an auto find Brendan. No, it doesn't do shift compensation, (ie pull timing on a shift to reduce the kick and motor loading while being pulled back down in revs on a change)

I just upgraded my original GTST LINK plugin to the new G4 Plugin (same as V44 hardware) and its perfect.

Throttle response is alot better , even out of the box once fuel maps %'d down to suit the 740cc's.

It definitely wins hands down when you consider the purchase of EBC's afms etc. The only thing I don't like about the V44 is lack of knock display. :(

I don't believe being a new product is an issue - it is a Link G4 but with better support and tweaked to prevent using either or software.

I might have a look at both firmware and see what differs. I suspect where it matters they will be identical, the issue preventing the use of link and vipecs software on either unit is not an indicator they are 'different' ecu's.

The only thing I don't like about the V44 is lack of knock display.

I run a knock-link with my vipec to display knock in the cabin. If you're going to use a knock-block for your knock input on the V44 plugin, you can use a knock-link display for the visual display.

I plan to change to one of the LCD type displays in the future for additional outputs.

The new Ruzic Engineering Engine Monitor is a straight plug-in dash display for the Vi-PEC. Its plugs into the CAN port and instantly displays 9 engine parameters pre-programmed as well as many more user defineable options. Comes with shift and warning lights as well as an audible buzzer. Will post some pics and details as soon as im able.

This is your knock display The Rogue.

have a link to it?

ive just installed one in our racecar...ill take some shots and post them up. This item is so slick and with a blue backlit and white LCD screen looks the goods too. The software even has its own dedicated Vi-PEC section written in it...nice.

Ive been made a dealer for this product as ive had quite a bit of input making it all happen as far as the Vi-PEC interface is concerned. They will be available for purchase for Vi-PEC owners very soon.

hey dirtgarage. what prices for the engine moniter and what else is needed to hook it up to a car not running the vipec. been looking at these for a little while instead of going the multiple guage route.

kit comes with everything needed for install. pricing unavailable yet.

got my ruzic engineering engine monitor on monday morning,

looks the goods i havent had a chance to start installing it yet because my engine and computer are'nt even in the car yet but everything looks the goods quality of the product is great.

Someone mentioned previously in this thread about it being called a V66 (by forums guys) cause it has 6 injector outputs...

But it actually has 8 by the looks. Inj 7 is used to drive the Idle solenoid on gtst. Inj 8 is not greyed out so i assume it could be used if you ran a wire :)

I will be running a few wires to make use of the spare in's and outs not available on the expansion connector (ie GTR second AFM input not used in gtst.

Gary

He said NOT running the vipec...

Yeah...i know what he said and answered acordingly. You can run the engine monitor if you dont have the Vi-PEC...it just makes the installation a lot more complex as the unit needs to be wired to all the sensors. With the Vi-PEC it simply plugs into the CAN bus port and gets all its data fed from it.

That is correct it does have 8, my INJ 8 actually controls my thermo fans.

    • Welcome back to the scene! Godzilla Motorsports were well regarded back in the day.  My GT-R had work done there prior to my ownership.   SRS (Street Race Solutions) in Toowoomba worth a look.  They've built some pretty wild Skylines. Their YouTube channel is comedic to watch!  I'm sure they're all on the glass BBQ but they get shit done! 🤣
    • Hard to say what the extra connector is, it looks a bit like a coax type connector, so possibly a separate radio/GPS antenna, or even another camera input?  The V37 series (including the Q50), did go through a model refresh in 2020, since Australia didn't get any Q50s newer than 2019, we didn't get any of the refreshed models, so there could also be other unexpected problems to overcome to swap an older Q50 head unit into a new model V37. There probably aren't too many people around that have made these sorts of changes to a Q50/V37, so you might end up being the first if you do decide to go ahead. ACP is Apple Car Play and AA is Android Auto, they are roughly the same thing for the 2 major phone operating systems (Apple's iOS and Android), it allows you to connect your phone and access a number of your phone applications on your car system.  With Nav apps included, so you could use google maps/Waze or whatever your favourite navigation app is, instead of using the built in navi system.  I think this would be a better solution if it is only Navigation that you are looking as swapping the head unit for. GPS signals are the same around the globe as the GPS satellites continuously circle the globe, but it is the head unit that doesn't allow you to load Australian maps, or at least no-one had made an Australian map that will load up on the JDM head unit. Regarding the TV standards, I assume you are referring to the AV inputs?  I haven't ever tried to use them, Japan used a slightly modified version of the US NTSC system, and Australia uses PAL for composite video, that said, I wouldn't be surprised if a video input could work with either system.  That is mostly irrelevant here though, unless you plan to use those inputs for something?
    • If you've got bucket loads of $. Go single. If not, just upgrade the twins, Garrett -9's or whatever the current equivalent is for a healthy 350awkw and leave it at that. Will probably still cost you 10k to do in this day and age.
    • When you looking to buy injectors?? I could possibly sell you my 1d1700s for decent price. Done little work I just need bigger again 😫
