A lot of the initial hesitation for going to the Vi-PEC by Power FC owners was the lack of a dash mounted interface unit. This is what most wanted so this product is a perfect solution.

Another solution would be to buy an old Game Boy from a garage sale for $10 and throw it at their thick heads.. haha.

The Ruzic does seem to fill a gap, but the point for a data logger and dash is so that you can run sensors not associated with the ECU. A dash that only takes inputs from the ecu is great as its plug and play but doesnt tell you some other things you MAY want to know. Thats where a wire in dash MAY be better for some people

Would it be possible to wire in your additional sensor to one of the spare Vi-pec analogue inputs and then get the Ruzic to display the new input? Would be a nice and tidy solution. Plus you could get the ECU to react to that input, datalog it, whatever..

umm, you'll find that the RE engine monitor does take inputs from any sensor you want. It's just been customised to work in direct link with the Vipec. You can wire in more sensors if you like.

The datalogger does everything a Motec logger can do.

Hi, Paul Ruzic here. I designed and built the EM PRO II and RaceLogger. I will happily discuss the technical specs of the unit but cannot discuss pricing or availability as per forum rules.

The EM PRO II was originally designed as a stand alone unit, then dirtGarage made the introduction to Ray Hall and the ViPEC ECU. So now if you have a Vi-PEC you can plug it in and reallocate all the normal inputs the EM PRO II already has to other channels expanding its monitoring capability.

The EM PRO II has 5 data used to show details of each individual data channels that are being monitored. Each of the pages can be configured to show up to four input channels at at time. An optional remote input button mounted within easy reach of the driver can be used to scroll between the pages.

Each monitored channel can have a "greater then" and a "less than" value assigned to them. The alarm situation can trigger the warning light / buzzer or both.

The proiority of the alarms can be set so the most important alarms are always at the top.

Up to three alarms can be seen on the screen at once.

The alarms can be set to hold for a minimum time so they are never missed or to not clear until acknowledged.

To ensure oil pressure is maintained through the rev range, the EM PRO II has two additional oil pressue points that are set referenced to RPM.

Without a Vi-PEC you can piggyback signals from the ECU (so far we have done units in cars running Motech, Haltech, Autronic, PowerFC) and also provide addtional sensors for signals ECU's don't usually support such as Oil Pressure, Oil Temp etc. With a Vi-PEC you can still add up to 6 additional channels using extra sensors.

When connected to the Vi-PEC data logging is performed with the Vi-PEC ECU. When stand alone the EM PRO II can be connected to the RaceLogger to add to the logging capabilities of the RaceLogger.

The EM PRO II has external Shift lights / warning lights and a large alarm buzzer for optimim setup for racing. The external page select / alarm acknowledge buttons also allow for driver convienient mounting for racing.

I have to also thank guys like Paul, Darren, Duncan, Mick, Noel, Gervase, Simon, Danh, Cam, Mark, Mitch, Pierce and others (you know who you are) who have supported this product through development and testing.

Thats the quick overview of the unit. I almost have a brochure ready (thanks Cam) which will detail all the information.

Sounds the biz...apologies, from what i read in other posts regarding the ViPec doing the logging etc and the fact that it was plug in i assumed it didnt have any external outputs for logging. So its great that it has 6 external analogue channels!

Any other screen shots. Is it always 4 lines? You say 5 pages with each page beign able to show up to 4 channels. Does that mean you can only show one or two and get bigger font/readout on each page?

Considering your car is for mainly track/circuit work (I am assuming from your thread in the motorsport section) why did you not go for an aftermarket dash such as that offered by Motec, Aim, Stack... etc?

That question has pretty much been answered the price and the fact that the Ruzic Engineering gear does the exact same job as the AIM etc but for a price you cant go past.

A mate of mine who's car I do all the work on has just ordered an AIM dash that has the same functions as the Ruzic gear and it is $3300.00 wich may be ok for him due to the budget he has to support his racing. But for me it makes more sense to use a product that does the same job without any compromises in its performance leaving me with more money to put into other parts of the car.

Thanks Trent for the info regarding the boost function. I am still undecided whether I should ditch my Blitz dual SBC or keep it.

Thanks also to Paul Ruzic for allowing me to test out his new products and for his patience with the development because I can be OCD sometimes lol The great thing about Paul products are their flexibilities and ability to customise to your needs. Paul doesnt leave any rock unturned and covered all possibilities before releasing his trial products. I've been testing Paul's EMII and 4WD controllers. Both have worked flawlessly and gave me more confidence in what I should be doing on the track.

Now that his can be hooked to the vipec, I might give the vipec a try.

I wont go overboard here and will write more feedback in the appropriate Ruzic thread.

Anyway the endless ability to program the shift light, warning lights, warm up lights and buzzer are awesome.

If you think dirt's image is bad, don't laugh at mine ok.

Hi Roy, the display is 4 lines of 20 characters. The display can easily be read from the drivers seat to any mounting postion so there isn't a need to join lines and make them bigger.

You can setup the pages however you like, one guy has put oil pressure at the top of every page as he likes to see it all the time. You can make pages with 1 to 4 items.

LOL, you guys must have better eyes then me and a smoother ride at light speed on the straights. At speed when i glance down to look at things i cant read the Power Fc readout if it has any more then two lines being displayed, even when on steering column.

Thats where the alarms and warning lights are great...just means you have to se them conservative so that you know when you have to start looking down

Roy, this thing is so much easier to read than the FC hand controller display.

In the event of a malfunction, the warning light and buzzer go off, the screen switches to a warning menu and lists the faults. There are also programmable warning pattern, duration and ways to turn it off.

It has enough warning lights and functions for me to keep an eye on my Willall racing built engine. Now that the vipec is on order, I think I will have less worries on the track :D

I mounted the datalogger in the glovebox (since you only need access to plug in USB storage, and that cushions it a bit from shock) and the EM2 unit is on top of the clock which is easily seen thru the steering wheel. Mine is running with a PowerFC sniffing 6 channels from there and about 10 other items from elsewhere.

Sorry its a bit off topic but they are an excellent unit. Probably need help with install if you struggle with electrics like me though lol.

    • Welcome back to the scene! Godzilla Motorsports were well regarded back in the day.  My GT-R had work done there prior to my ownership.   SRS (Street Race Solutions) in Toowoomba worth a look.  They've built some pretty wild Skylines. Their YouTube channel is comedic to watch!  I'm sure they're all on the glass BBQ but they get shit done! 🤣
    • Hard to say what the extra connector is, it looks a bit like a coax type connector, so possibly a separate radio/GPS antenna, or even another camera input?  The V37 series (including the Q50), did go through a model refresh in 2020, since Australia didn't get any Q50s newer than 2019, we didn't get any of the refreshed models, so there could also be other unexpected problems to overcome to swap an older Q50 head unit into a new model V37. There probably aren't too many people around that have made these sorts of changes to a Q50/V37, so you might end up being the first if you do decide to go ahead. ACP is Apple Car Play and AA is Android Auto, they are roughly the same thing for the 2 major phone operating systems (Apple's iOS and Android), it allows you to connect your phone and access a number of your phone applications on your car system.  With Nav apps included, so you could use google maps/Waze or whatever your favourite navigation app is, instead of using the built in navi system.  I think this would be a better solution if it is only Navigation that you are looking as swapping the head unit for. GPS signals are the same around the globe as the GPS satellites continuously circle the globe, but it is the head unit that doesn't allow you to load Australian maps, or at least no-one had made an Australian map that will load up on the JDM head unit. Regarding the TV standards, I assume you are referring to the AV inputs?  I haven't ever tried to use them, Japan used a slightly modified version of the US NTSC system, and Australia uses PAL for composite video, that said, I wouldn't be surprised if a video input could work with either system.  That is mostly irrelevant here though, unless you plan to use those inputs for something?
    • If you've got bucket loads of $. Go single. If not, just upgrade the twins, Garrett -9's or whatever the current equivalent is for a healthy 350awkw and leave it at that. Will probably still cost you 10k to do in this day and age.
    • When you looking to buy injectors?? I could possibly sell you my 1d1700s for decent price. Done little work I just need bigger again 😫
