Mine idles dead flat. Try spraying some carbi cleaner around the rubber seals of the injectors, if the revs change then it means you have an air leak.

These things use closed loop control of idle, but use the settings in the open-loop table as a rough starting point for idle control duty cycle, so you set up your idle in open loop and then switch on closed loop and it is done.

Havent taken it to ESP yet, will talk to them tomorrow, taking the car back to Skyline Performance to fix a slow oil leak first. Car also broke down on mild throttle when I took the car for a quick drive yesterday. Was breaking down on anything more than 4-5psi when esp were first tuning it. after the put in new bkr7e's it only did it once on the dyno.

Was advised by someone else putting in better sparkplugs wouldn't hurt?

Use BCPR7ES forget platinum plugs and tell your tuner to stop using BKR's in RB's.... they are 2.5mm shorter and only amplify ignition problems due to poor contact.

this has been my plug of choice for a couple of years now and i couldn't agree more...

have used for 185, 240 and 265 rwkw

I use it now too. Only problem is having to order them in prior to each change.

most repcos have them in stock, i usually buy 30-40 at a time of both BKR7E and 20-30odd BCPR7ES cause my work is split between RB's, SR's and JZ's.

*backs away from narre autobarn being veeeery careful not to take eyes off trent*

haha nah but they always have Z32's, BCPR and BKR plugs 040's, 02 sensors etc out the back ready to go for me so if anyone ever needs them in a hurry on a sunday or whatever it may help you out. Crazy range of silicon hose instock too.

    • This lady loved her FD for 25 years!  https://www.topspeed.com/80-year-old-woman-donates-fd-rx-7-mazda/ My brother in law. He's nice enough to let me drive it whenever. He'll likely not see this, but I'll try: @r-is-for-fun got any pics?
    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
    • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
    • Even though I have some pretty good (brand) ratchet ringies, I avoid using them to break open tight bolts. A broken ratchet is very annoying.
