just spoke to the manufacturer....this ecu will support BOTH afm's and map based tuning. Runs a 32bit processor which is twice as fast as Autronic SM4.

will be due for release at the end of the month

you'll now have shit load more people coming around to this product due to AFM capability.

preliminary testing has shown map based tune to be just as good as AFM based in all facets...light throttle, idle, cruise etc..

but due to the dual functionality of the unit, you can run it either way

Hand controller available ? if so can you monitor everything with the h/c and comeplety tune the ecu using the hand controller?

If it dont have that kind of functionality like the PFC I will be keeping my PFC.

don't you have a laptop?...much easier to tune with a laptop

manufacturers have steered clear of producing a H/C as this is not a boyracer ecu...its a high end product...so no hand controller (maybe we can see if adapter for Apexi H/C can be done in the future...difficult to do...but not impossible...as this would be a nice feature to please all the Apexi lovers out there)

digital dash is being produced for this unit also...displaying most importantly...KNOCK or lack of it

lol Yes i have a laptop and have datalogit as well.

What if you have 2 maps, one is a race tune map for c16 and one is a 98 octane map, you fill up at a servo and find your engine is knocking its head off.. ahhh bad batch of fuel mate.. You can't exactly switch it to the race tune map can you ?

As much as it is cool to drive around everywhere with the laptop plugged in.. not... its good to be able to get into the maps and change them on the fly for the conditions. Yes I am a Apexi PFC lover but I must say I wont keep it if something comes up that is better and does what I need it to do.

you know what to do when that occurs but....99% of Power FC owners would not have a clue. I see what you mean though...this ECU is not for everyone....ill show you 1st hand the product and we will give it a run in your car and we will see if we can convert you.

Yeah cool.. I will give it a go...

I am all for local products.. if your comparing it to the likes to autronic / motec maybe you can ask the guys to put ignition knock corrections like the standard ECU.

So if the ecu see's knock it will drop the timing to drop the knock automatically....

I know the AEM ecu does this and the Nistune ecu does this (stock ecu). they are the only 2 ecu's i know that can do this.

Power FC is only a "flashing light"

Maybe ask them if they can do that, and also can you plug in a wideband afr meter for tuning and auto tuning. EGR inputs

how many aux inputs will there be on this ecu ?

your getting me excited now lol... also the cost would be interesting to know.

I can see this costing $2k+ judging by the features.

If its not sub $1400 then its certainly not going to replace the Powerfc in a hurry.

$2K is around the ballpark

will not be sub $1.5K

around $3000+ less than a MoTeC

its more a ECU for those looking for advanced features and datalogging.

think about it...sell Power FC, AFM's and boost controller and upgrade costs next to nothing
