top stuff daniel... cant wait to see it with 4 inch lift on her!! gotta love luxes! they are called hilux for a reason... dont know why some idiots lower them :)

looks like the oldies were bf goodies all terain t/a's awesome tires aswell... not gonna get as many kms outta ur mickys compared to the goodriches

i take it u like to head off on the beaten track??

used to go camping up the flinders all the time with family i can appreciate a good forbie(4wd)

td or petrol?

:D

its petrol so got plenty of power thinkin of puttin the trd supercharging kit on it

nar leaving paint standard this time i like the white dosnt show up much an easy to look after

an i had plains for ages to put rims an tyres on it just not the cheapest car to mod as tyres alone are $310 an hav to buy 6 of them + new wheels to suit then have to make braket in the bak to hold the spares as the standard mountin spot is to small to fit 33z

the scarly thing so far is the suspension cost as much as a basic bult rb so far bloody expensive stuff

an this is been bult for serious 4wdin not just for looks

nice,,,,, ill post a pick of my 1985 toyota hilux sr5 with 33 inchmongrel mudiggers, 2.5inch truck pipes custom tray and fresh respray.its not done yet but it looks alright. i was thinking of putting a supra motor or v8 in mine.arghhh power.

cheers... michael

here is a pic of my hilux ill post one of the truck pipes and other stuff on it. shes mean. and a pic of what it looked like about 3 months ago. so do you do much 4wdriving much mate???? i only done mine up cause i got bored. and got sick of jumping the table tops at the motorcross track with it. when it was old so i changed my shocks and used greasable shackles and stuff. p.s sorry to highjack your thread.

a bit of food for thought... i guy around the corner from my old place has a lime green lux... looked like a 2002 model crue cab.. jacked up off its face with mud terrains.. here is the golden part... he dropped a worked 1jz in it with a hefty high mount...... yummmm

nar go 4" suspension then i can go 35" in the future money not a prob i goin all out on the set up as im saving to do simpson next yr. gotta get sum 4wd hrs under my belt first.

i go out 4wdin so far about once every 2 weeks. only been on one trip from salt creek to beach port along the beach an sand dunes

great fun an alows u 2 just getta away from it all so easy just need a swap an bit of wood an off ya go for a weekend

any chance u can get sum piks of this hilux with the 1j in it

i would hav put the a lexus v8 in it first just coz of the touque it would b a much btr choice

Pfffft go a freaking 2JZ lads, cheap as half cuts theses days, and ahhhhhh done!! Plenty of Nm there!! Only advantage of the Toyota V8 would be the smoother power curve, ie NO boost!! depends on your application really!!

My mate has a NEW TRD Hilux on order at GC Toyota, top of the range dual cab leather and all!! Is going to be a nice as tow car, much better than the BA XR8 ute!!

    • Convert to dual filament bulb   FWIW, it will look odd - I dare say a bit dumb as it looks like your flasher relay has shit the bed.
    • If the RB20 box in the car is a push clutch, then yes, you will need to deal with the pull clutch on the turbo box. You either buy a pull clutch and don't use the old one, or you do the things needed to convert the turbo box's clutch arrangement over to push. Which is a bit of a f**karound. "Making" a custom tailshaft is the easy part. But you will need to source the front clip yoke - the bit that goes into the output of the gearbox. These are not as easy to find. They are out there, but they don't grow on trees the way that they used to.
    • Indicator bulbs are way too bright to use as a "corner marker" (we call them parking lights too). Sure. Go ahead and do it. But realise that you wil need to come up with all your own wiring to do it, as no-one will have a standard howto worked out for Skylines. It's just a matter of abandoning everything that Nissan have done and starting from scratch. You'd probably be better off retrofitting tailght/brakelight globe bases into the front indicator housings and using the taillight circuit for your corner marker and the brake light as the indicator. You'd need to work out how to kill the marker circuit while the indicator is flashing, otherwise it won't flash on-off, just bright-less bright.
    • Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice
    • Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance
