Ok, so after reading the boost controller thread in the DIY/FAQ section I decided to fit a Blitz SBC iD III boost controller to my car. Bought one off Zac from Slidewize and proceeded to happily fit the thing to my car. As it stands, with the boost controller set up in auto mode (set at 10.3 psi), the car will boost up at full throttle to anywhere between 7.5 to 9.8 psi. It will not hold any particular level of boost for an extended period of time (have checked this using the graph feature of the SBC iD III), will never hit a consistant level of boost, and will never really hit the 10.3 psi dialled in. Generally, the boost pressure will build to a random peak in the 7.5 - 9.8 psi range and then fall off immediately, so my graph ends up looking like a mountain range, instead of a plateau :D . I have tried setting it up in manual mode, as per the instructions on the SBC iD III thread, to no avail. Infact, I played around with the settings incrementally and ended up dialling the boost value to 90 and the gain value to 45 and could still not hit more than around 9.9 psi, this is when I decided something may be wrong :P

I re-read the post on the SBC iD III today and was reminded of how everyone elses seems to hit the dialled in pressure and hold on strong. I also read SK's comments on the factory restrictor for the first time today, and am a little unclear on how this may effect my set-up, do I need to modify or replace the restrictor to flow 10 psi +?

What does everyone think? I will post some pictures of the SBC iD III graphs and solenoid set-up tomorrow, when it is not 2am :ermm: .

ta for your time peeps,

harts.
