Hey all.. I moved back to perth from qld last year.. have an r32 gts4 which I had shipped over but has been in storage for about six months now. I am looking for a really genuine mechanical workshop (had an awesome one over in brissy if anyone ever needs a number).

Need to put her over the pits, so looking at getting a bit of basic stuff done.. but also looking at spending some decent cash on doing her up a bit. Few performance mods, new bodykit, custom paint, mags. A shop that happy to work with u and ur ideas but tellin ya 'thats a shit idea' if it is. (old mechanic great for that, upfront on everything.) Cost isnt important, but some who can do it for what they say and not spin bs is always respected :) time frame of work is irrelevant. thanks heaps for any recs.

also spent two hours this morn searchin for pics/web sites for bodykits, bout to start bashing head on keyboard... if anyone can give any good links would be much appreciated :(

cheers xp

Welcome to SAUWA. And is this your first post in 2 years? Lol

I work at Malaga Auto Repairs in Malaga, and we do this sort of thing quite alot, fixing up cars to get them over the pits. Not sure if the boss will accept yours, but its worth a try. My boss is very honest, and wont scam you at all. The number is 9249 2775.

Other then that, have a look at the Workshop thread at the top of this page. You'll find some good info in there.

As for bodykits, you cannot go past Fibrevision in Welshpool I think it is. Do a search on the net, and you should come up with a number.

This thread is a summary of workshops/smash repairers etc, so should help... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...hr-t191756.html

Lately I've been going to Tenagah Motorsports, found them to be excellent ...so I definitely recommend them for upgrades & services.

Should be easily able to do any work required to get your 32 over the pits also.

As for panel & paint work, can't go past Damage Control, top notch.

:)

+1 for Tenagah Motorsport

Abdus is a champ

as for getting it over the pits and if you want all that kinda stuff done as well as mods all in the one place, go to Danny at Imports101

he bought an R34 JUST for compliance and parts for the pits... doesn't use it for anything else, he's put way too many R32's through the pits to not know what needs to be done upside down and inside out...

+1 for Imports101

    • Hi all. So I have my GTR on the lift and have been working on it a few days and today I unpacked the frontpipe that was wrapped with heat wrap stuff, because part of it was breaking down and soaked in oil. Noticed that the pipe itself does not actually look like a Mines, despite it supposedly being a Mines. But I could not find any fronpipe online that looks exacly like his, and I don't think it is a custom one. My amateur measurement also showed the two pipes are about equal length, so maybe this is just an old version of the Mines pipe? Would appreciate insight on this by the enlightened folks. greetings from Germany
    • Yeah. If I plug the connector in and connect the vacuum lines, I assume worse case scenario is that it simply doesn't work? Yep PFC.
    • I would think that rather than attempting to perform an engine swap, with all the difficulties associated with doing so in a country where the raw materials required are harder to get hold of, I would just build the CA20 for boost, find an EFI manifold for it and either add a turbo or a supercharger. Or both. You replace one set of difficulties with a different set, but I know which would be more fun.
    • Well, a proper aftermarket ECU** SHOULD be set up to run the purge solenoid, same as the factory ECU would, so that the tank breather system continues to operate the way it is supposed to. I have no knowledge of whether the PFC (which is what I assume you mean when you say Apexi) has an output (and internal logic) to run the purge solenoid. If it does not, then given the product design intent for the PFC, which is to be a plug in replacement for the stock ECU, I would consider that a massive failing on Apexi's behalf and would be another reason to think that they were a half-arsed solution to the problem if programmable management on RBs. I would suggest that since Nistune came to market (which is a LOOOOONG time ago now) there has been no valid argument for choosing a PFC, especially if the PFC can't do things like this.   **ie, Haltach, Link, Motec, etc
