It's best for you to use stock HID kit that come from factory but are removed during compliance. if you import your car yourself see if you can get back the original ballast and ignitor that was removed from the importer/compliancer if not then you'll only be left with an option of hunting one from Nissan or getting aftermarket one.

There's been a lengthy discussion about HID headlights if you do look into the forum of this V-series section.

No go on the nav, all will be Japanese, no translation - a russian company still in progress for translation of screen (not nav) for sept this year but don't be surprised if it the estimated date goes beyond september due to the complexity of the process.

again there is also a thread about this - look around.

you could install a 3rd party aussie nav on top of your tv system. go thru the aux input. again, there is a lengthy thread about this - search.

fuel - i reckon normal. as you may find joyness in newfound 206kw power, you may drive it quite spirited and the car will drink fuel like drinking happy juice.

getting 500km+ is possible but please drive like a nanna. let all those falcodore & hyundai excels beat the crap out of you at the traffic lights.

thanks for the reply...

350k to a full tank or thereabouts is pretty bad! I get more than 600kms with everyday driving...I recently travelled to the Hunter Valley in NSW from Brisbane...travelled 800kms on one full tank with 10Ls to go when I filled up but that was mostly highway driving.

highway driving will of course saves a lot of fuel... cos basically the car is just cruising with hardly any extra load applied.

kinda almost idling all the way and just a little bit of load to keep the speed... if being used in start and stop traffic jam

its a different story. I had my old R33 able to do almost 10L/100km up to 15L/100km depending on where it's being used mainly.

all highways - 10L, daily traffic with very calm driving 12L, and lots of having fun after turbo upgrade = 15L/100km

I would imagine V35 would do the same - although Penny, if your car still doing that bad on highways - must be a bad tune or have you been putting bad fuel in it?

Penny is your "full tank" actually you waited before the needle reached "E" and refill then measure the distance you travelled? Or still have at least a quarter in it? Remember that even on "E" mark on your fuel gauge, the tank actually would still have about 5-10L left in it.

On a spare weekend why not fill the tank up to 1 click on the nozzle, take a reasonable drive on highway, e.g. 1-2 hours each way, and refill up to 1 click again. then you measure how much ltr you put in on 2nd fill, divided by hwy distance u covered * 100.

Do the same again but now compare to when you actually use the car daily to work/uni/shops in traffic jam. you'll see the difference.

Also - when you open your fuel filler cap when it's about to empty, if there is no hiss of gas means your fuel filler cap might not be tight or vacuum. that way your car is loosing petrol through evaporation. there's whole lot of other factor that can cause you not getting the distance for the petrol you put in...

thank u guys for the reply...

i put 85 bucks on the car which is vpower from shell...

all city driving n everyday driving...350km only...

i cant even imagine that u guys can drive 500+k per full tank....whats the problem wiz my car?something wrong in the engine?

Consider this:

V-power is about 1.50/L, $85 get you 57 L of petrol, then you drive 350km, equal to 16.2 L/100km, if you are in sydney, driving everyday in peak hour, that is not a bad number, consider in sydney peak hours, 10 KM need 45 minutes to drive.

Test on highways really make differents, if it is arount 10L/100km, or even 9L/100km, There is nothing wrong with your baby.

Just dame traffic and goverment.

thanks u guys, i think i know whats going on 2 my car..

Anyone get any idea that the bulbs taken off by the compliance is 4300k or 6000k?

must i take off the front bumper and headlight to put it back in?what if i would like 2 get an aftermarket HID, do i still need 2 do the same stuff?

thanks...

if in brisbane - who complied the car (look in passenger door jamb) - from there I can help. did you bring the car in yourself?

i m from a town which is 1 n half hour drive from brisbane...i bought the car in gold coast, i didnt bring the car by myself, it was through an dealer...

does anyone who manage to upgrade the headlight to 06-07 model which is wiz the projector?i m looking 4 the 06-07 headlight wiz projector, anyone can help?

i checked on the ebay motor, there r 2 pairs of them, but both are second hand one...

Edited by Penny

It is easiser to remove the front bumper.

The factory HID is 4300k.

It is better to restore the factory as it should come with your car.

The brand new will cost you USD $1500 each. If you don not care , just go for it.

It is easy to take off the front bumper than access the light from the front wheel fender.

A lot of member here done this upgrade, I think this is the easiest upgrade overall(Harder than put a sticker on window)

thanks for the reply Frank...

where can i get my headlight upgrade?n how much is it?order from US?

get them from the USA - they will be the WRONG ones. usdm cars have a 15 deg beam lean to the left. in english that will put the lights LITERALLY in the face of on coming traffic in a RHD car. JDM OE or importers are the only true way do do this correctly. adjusting wont help. the reflectors are designed that way.

    • I have copied the images in the original post from photobucket to the SAU servers to make sure they stay available.
    • Mate you saved be from dying in the Perth summer. AC wasn't changing direction and just going into diagnostics mode fixed it. You're a legend and I would shout you a beer if I could!
    • Unfortunately effort gone to waste, you will have substantial issues with how the manifold and wastegate have been integrated. You would be so much better off with a modified stock manifold like this: https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25detexgatedmanifold/   OR literally just getting a off the shelf Sinco or 6Boost manifold as myself and others have mentioned.
    • Yuck. But it's kinda the same principle, moving timing around to make car run bad but sound good.... I went for a more spirited tuning drive to iron out a few things. Car no longer stalls, and it loved to dip RPM low when you clutch in. After tuning this (and the 4-5 tables that HPTuners/LS1 OEM ECU wants for idle air correction) it's now behaving somewhat normal. All expected because there's a new TB, new Intake manifold and that new TB which is 102mm vs 78... has an entirely different IAC passage which is smaller because ????? Unfortunately at this point I went to make further fine tuning changes to avoid it flaring up, you know... _tuning_ the HPTuners dongle died. Well to be more accurate - The USB cable died in a fashion that anyone who has ever charged a phone will recognize. After the app demanding I resync it 50 or so times (which all 'succeeded' but all failed) the device does not want to sync and I've logged a ticket with support to see if it's fixable. US Support said it was a 'storage issue' but after removing the SD card inside it and formatting it/fixing it the issue does persist. Unfortunately usually the fix is "Turn in your old dongle and pay $700 for the upgraded one" it's cheaper because I get some free licence credits I unfortunately don't need. However I'm 10 minutes down the road from HP Tuners AUS/VCM so at least I won't need to post it, and logged a new ticket for support over here. Definitely drives different. My SOTP dyno believes it's probably making 310-320kw instead of the 280 before.  It scrambles for traction a little now whereas it previously different. It drives like a bigger cam car up top even though the cam is smaller, likely due to the cam not being advanced 6 degrees. The timing is deliberately low and the fuel is very rich so who knows if this will improve on the dyno. It may, imperceptably. Also funny is removing the pineapples definitely makes the car squat more and axle tramp less. So this behavior of having more top end, squatting more, and scrabbling for traction more makes me think = more power. But I could have just been sitting on the threshold of that kind of behavior before. Time will tell if my butt dyno is calibrated right. I need the exhaust leaks fixed before dyno tune for obvious AFR related reasons - I repositioned the pipes but I'm not confident it's fully sealed even if it is better. At least the car does drive around while I cannot tweak/tune it for now. And I have aircon again. medium success!
