I'm sure you'll get into 11's with slicks hey, I was going to film you after my last run but you'd run off. oh well.

HAHAH yeh thats me. The one who doesnt know how to take off.

I will be out again hopefully at the next wednesday night st meet but i'l be hoping its not as packed! I was expecting atleast a good 10 runs untill i got there and i was like "WTFFF". Well with the mph i was running it should do an 11 with ease though at jambo i will like to see the 10sec bracket.

Problem is hitting 3rd and wheel spinning.

well i watched the vid my mate took, he actually got my run against the m5

great launch, 2.1 60ft and halfway down the track you can hear my car rev its guts off and slow down a bit.... damn 3rd gear wasnt where i thought it was :P

so i missed my 13 i believe. i did however do a 14.0 with a 2.2sec 60ft

really needs the powerfc to unlock its potential i think

Yeah it was heaps of fun, being my first time I was a bit nervous but 51jay helped out heaps and told me what to do so I didn't stuff up or just start driving down the track without knowing what to do. Just gotta work on my reaction time (1sec heh) and it'll be better.

Thanks for the help 51jay appreciate it! Did you end up getting cracking the 13's?

I did manage a 14.1 as my PB out of 4 runs which I'm pretty happy with. Specially the fact its an auto.

Yeah I got paired with the M5. Although I expected it to do better it only did a 13.65, but it looked impressive.

But yeah hope to go again as soon as I can, I think Im hooked now too :P

Although dunno how I can drive any better cause an auto is pretty straight forward. Spool to 2k release brake and plant it. Gives pretty consitant times compared to a manual. What about using the hand brake to spool higher? Or shifting the gears manually? Although the power button does goto 6800rpm or so before changing. Leave overdrive off or on?

I will be at the next one for sure. Need practice to get consistant launches. Ignoring the last run where I gave it way too much off the line, I was getting about 2.3 60ft times which can be improved on I think. I didn't let any pressure out of the tyres though, so running 36psi probably doesn't help. Judging by my best terminal speed of 96.8 mph not sure I can improve my time by too much though. Time for some HP mods me thinks.

Bit of a unit you got there mate!

Thanks. Basically its got all the set up + more mods thats not listed on that website. Only difference now is that its a 2.5lt not a 3.0lt. Still, i should be good for 480rwhp using standard head, cams & cam gears. Currently its at 360rwhp (270rwkw). Still running low boost :(

James...i got your 2.1 60ft run against the M5 on vid but don't know how to load...you certainly do need a PFC, you will be able to bargin one from Nengun for near $1400 (HC + PFC).

Was happy with my runs. I was hoping realistically only for a 13.3 but now hopefully with some more tuning and better shifting, I hope for a high 13.1 next time

Was good to see so many skylines out there! And good to see skylines racing against other skylines. Will hopefully see such a generous turn out next time!

4 Doorz is your vid cam a digital or normal tape one? I can capture vids as long as theres AV/s-video output from the vid cam. Don't have a pc that can take firewire digital yet though. :P

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
