My front right brake is squealing always, even when I’m driving.

It started happening intermittently about 2 months ago, a constant metal on metal squeal while i'm driving (not even braking). Back then when I applied the brake the squealing would stop. The noise would eventually come back, but again would stop for a while once I would apply the brake.

These days it constantly squeals, when I apply the brakes the noise does not disappear. I have yet to take the wheel off and have a good look, but its obvious metal is touching metal somewhere.

So before I start mucking around I thought someone surely has had this problem before or knows what it would be straight away?

Cheers.

take your wheel off and have a look. either the metal indicator is touching the rotor so maybe change your brake pads. Or get some brake gel from super cheap about $3 and take out your brake pads and apply it to the metal brakets that sit inside your caliper and and around your pistons put your pads back in and it should be all good.

Yeh, some brands of pads such as bendix have screech bars that tell you that you are in need of new pads, but they put them really forward, so that when you still have about 50% left they start touching the rotor and squeel... you can just bend them back and then you can get a good 80% out of them :P

The pads still have decent amount left in them (around 65 - 70% left) . They are bendix ultimates, so maybe the screech bars are well forward. The noise is really shitting me up the wall as you can imagine, but didnt want to take the wheel off and investigate further incase it was something else. Ill have to find some time to have a look druing the week. Thanks for the advice guys.
