if i need to take off the head to do valve springs can you reuse the khs metal head gasket

or can u do valve springs with the head on

if so anyone know anyone in brisvegas that can do this

You can do the valve springs with the head on but its a long and lengthy process that is costly unless you can do it yourself. I have heard of re-using metal head gaskets but i wouldnt say it would be advisable especially if the engine is highly strung.

Talk to JHH in woodridge about the work. Ask for John or Will.

it has been done before..using the hks metal head gaskets that is..

however like any gasket once it has been compressed once it is never the same again

Not so much once its been torqued down. More to do with once the engine has been run. If its only been torqued down its fine to re-use.

I have tried to re-use the HKS 1.2mm head gasket on my GTR34 to change the valve spring, unfortunity the compression was not that good and y mechanic told me it is leaking. So, i suggest you might want to get a new gasket so you don't have to spend time and money to do it over again.
