Where to get New Spare parts??? (Apart From Nissan)

hey,

I am sick of going to the nissan dealerships, and paying out the ass prices, for simple things such as rubber hoses, clips, bolts, etc.

All i needed was a simple door lock seal. probly worth a bout 2 cents, and the pricks go, nah i am sorry, you will have to buy the whole door lock, and that will be $98 UNCODED!!!

haha, so i am not going there again....

What other spare parts places, are much cheaper, and actaully know what they are talking about. WHen the nissan dealership man, doesn't know if an rb25det is single cam or twin cam, you know theres something wrong.

I know of repco, but they normally dont stock import parts.

Must a place in eastern or south eastern suburbs which will sell some of the import stuff, like heater hoses, seals, gaskets, belts,..... etc.

I am more after heater hoses at the moment.

Repco does know of some import parts, but usually its a matter of finding the aussie Nissan that the parts match for.. unfortunately they're not very good at that. If you do pester them often they *can* find the correct parts, but they have to call into head office which sometimes can work as some up there seem to know about imports (they at least knew what an RB25DET was)

I recommend you try one of the overseas places like nengun http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/, if you give them a part number they should be able to use their japanese connections to find it for you at a reasonable price brand new.

Justjap in sydney - www.justjap.com seems to have most parts I've asked for, although they are not the cheapest.

I went in there... sparkies for an RB25DET mate.

what's that... well... an engine (derr) for an R33 skyline.

NAh mate, not here. You need to get a plug out and bring it here then we 'may' be able to match it.

Pity i drove my car there.

anywayz, it was a HKS plug... but low and behold they couldn't work it out!

moral of the story... unless the guy behind the counter OWNS or knows someone that OWNS a skyline, they'll have diddly squat of an idea.

They pointed me in the direction of right spark plugs.. said "hmmm, have no idea what you are talking about.. whats an RB25DET".. they got on the phone to central office and minute later.. "oh they say you need these"

i've worked it out later that day with a mates help and got normal NGK 1.1's... and gapped them to .9

for a TOTAL of $15... not worth going platinums at this stage.

dont worry... i'm not useless.

how can u get a repco account and i didnt think u could get the platinums gapped at 0.8, where where where ????

Also try Renew in dandy they got heaps of second hand parts i ended up gettin my mirror for 150 when other places were askin 200 !!

need a throttle cable off a r31. bleed the brakes, battery to the boot, and away we go!!!.

ended up getting some heater hoses from autobarn. they had a hole heap of em. i just git some straight ones with a 90 degree bend on the end.

seem to be doing the trick...

I dont know why Repco would have to call 'cetral office' or tell you to bring in a sample of the plug... IF they look in the New Zeland NGK book.. they have most of the import listings in there...

so just tell em to look in that book if they look at you stupid...

I work in spare parts in springvale.. and 80% of customers work on imports.. they must have just been lazy

That was from the Xspeed catalogue.. and it was 25-40% off.. plus that was HKS and Apexi stuff.. but havent heard back from them yet
