Everyone take note and be carefull

Last wednesday night I was driving home from the shops at about 6:45 pm, when I noticed a dark navy ford xR8 following me very close... Then then came within inches of my car and then flashed their high beems... I slowed down, thinking I was being pulled over by the cops...

As I slowed I realised they had no lights, not anything to show me it was a police car, so i sped back up to just over the limit, this time they sped up behind me, high beeming me and tried to get up beside my car... they strated to move to the left while on my rear quater in an attempt to move me off the road. I heard a light bang as they touched just beside my right rear rim, I have a crack in my rear bar and some scuffing... This happened 2 more times and it was obvious they were trying to push me off the road or stop me...

I put my foot down enough to keep in front and keep them from touching my car for the next 800 metres, not slowing much for round-abouts... I came to the round-about that I would normally turn left to go home on, and went right as I did not want them to follow me all the way home...

As i was turning right and heading into another road, they went THE WRONG WAY around the round about and tried to block me in... At this point it became very scarey! I proceeded to lap the round about and head towards my house at high speed to loose them as they turned around...

Luckily I was able to evade them and come out safely... The car was full with at least 4 male passengers from what I could see... Police are going to patrol the road looking for similar vehicles and any suspicious behaviour.

:P

guess you didn't get their number plate either.. might have been difficult though - hard to think clearly in those situations.

i had the same over the weekend actually, but he was like 70 so i don't think that really counts as a carjacking :P he was juzt stoopid trying to merge into me even while i was looking right at him!

If I was in that situation, I would drive to the nearest police station, pull in and start to walk inside. They could do what ever they like to my car while I run inside to get the cops. I would actually probably ring 3364 6464 first to warn them that I was heading to that police station and to have someone out the front.

well i know that area pretty dam well.

their the best roundabout hey smoothline. hehe.

thats not good. thats why you must carry wepons in your car.

i live at monterey keys. some dodgy ppl come past slow right down and look into my garage. i jump out and write down their regos, got a peice of paper with 6 number plates on it. but i think most of them are house shopping.

its bad when you own such a nice car and either somthign happends to it or someone else wants it.

mmm guess i better upgrade to something a little more beefy than the flexible intercooler clamp screwdriver

i had a run in with some foreigners on those rented scooters.. i was in the passenger seat of a car and they were riding in the lane next to us swerving at us and each other

long story, but i dont any thing apart from a huge knife, 14" blade, but its hard cause by the time you stop it still takes a good 10secconds to rip out. i say jsut go nuts at em.

i had another wepon but my bro got it confiscated, and the cop kept it for his own use. long story.

but i pitty anyone that tries to mess with any of my mates.

    • Also, a tip for young players  Check the dates on new tyres before they fit them, I always ask this question at the tyre shop, as they have tried to put "new" tyres on one of my cars a few years ago, but the build date was about 3 years old
    • Yeah - 4 or 5 years is the limit for decent tyres. Pedestrian grade tyres with 400 TW ratings start out hard and don't start to suffer until they are somewhat older again. But the stickier decent stuff? Nup. My current ADO9s are < 2 yrs old, 17000km in, only have about the minimum 2mm of tread depth left, and they are.....not what they used to be. They are clearly much harder now than when new. Whether that is heat cycles (unlikely, for a road tyre), different compound between top and bottom of tread, or actually aging out (in less than 2 years!!!) is not really able to be discerned. But I'd credit actual aging as being at least part of the cause. I've got an old pair of ~50% worn AD08Rs in the shed that I really need to get rid of. They started feeling waaaay too hard to put back on the car after a couple of years sitting there.
    • Personally I wouldn't put tyres over 4 or 5 years old on any of my own cars. Once they go hard the grip characteristics completely change. As per most things it only matters in an accident and that's when you most want them to do their job!
    • I'm replacing the front tyres on the E39 tomorrow because one of them has a few gouges out of it. There is so much tread still on them but they're also 9 years old and the rubber is super hard.  This falls within the guidelines of 10 years old that I've read which surprises me given their condition.  I'm curious about whether you guys care about tyre age or just judge the tyre based on condition? How old would you consider too old?
    • What starts as a scratch, becomes a flesh wound, then quadruple amputation. Jus' sayin'. Crush resistant gloves (The ones with the rubber strips down the back of the hand and fingers) might not be a bad idea after all!
