i know it sounds stupid but were running out of options on how to defend ourself. soon being a hoon will be bread in because you have no choice. if you are you are... if your not you still are....

Never thought about the Chasers, the target audience could be wrong though? Need to target narrow minded people who have been brain washed by media and aren’t aware of the flip side stories to all the anti hooning.

I could see something on the Chasers being a start of something bigger perhaps, other media may jump on the bandwagon

ok. basically i emailed aca within the lines of something like: it was a bit one sided, were not all hoons, bla bla bla bla bla. i also highlighted theyre tendancies to steal video's from youtube with japanese images. and also speeding up the camera 2x normal speed.

FYI, we weren't expecting to run into any car enthusiasts and all 3 groups of people interviewed in the story approached us, it wasn't the other way around.

....You'll be pleased to know they all frequent boostcruising.com, as did I throughout the duration of the story and the guy who sent the thank you is known as "retarded monkey"! They were concerned they would be misquoted and they weren't because they all spoke like reasonable intelligent young people.

The one guy who had a go at Dawn, did so of his own accord and came looking for us..cameras and all! Clearly he's giving the rest of you a bad name.

The majority of emails we've had were positive because people could see the "common car hoons" were at the very least, suggesting a solution!

Once again, thanks for your response...negative or not we appreciate all feedback!

yeah, who would have that little else to do then go out and try stop a bunch of people hanging out at a perfectly good hang out with there mates. but in saying that it doesnt matter who u are or what u do, as the old saying goes, "There is always an idiot in every bunch to ruin it for the rest" so in a case like this a few louts do burnouts when they leave etc, but for the most, ppl are well behaved. but nobody says anything about how out of 300-400 cars only 2 did silly stuff. that just isnt good enough to draw attention.

not to mention that they just drag up footage of "hooning" in general, not even related to the story at all to make it look good. if they actually got some footage of some1 doing a burnout on the night then thats a different story, but they dont and they play the same shit over and over again every hoon story. that says to me they cant find any hooning to film obviously bcoz its pretty minimal in the areas they are trying to whinge about.

They did not reply to my extremely long complaint. which not only outlined how they contradicted themselves with quotes. but also the links from which they took the footage from you tube. and a demand that they apologies for insulting all car enthusiasts by referring to us as hoons. which they DID do.

the council have started putting a perminent fence on the south end of the car park (cemented in), saw them doing it yesterday as i jogged past...i guess its for the car park upgrade...lmao...the northern end has a temp fence...i guess they think they are going to stop hooning by putting up a fence around the car park

your best course of action, if your really for real about this is to contact ACMA with your issue, you could also contact groups for ethical journalism with a complaint. Further it would be in your interest to invite ACA to a SAU meet. I would suggest these "coffee meets"? you guys have. This could be good for two important reasons

one - environment, the environment is good for educated discussion with the journo they send out. also allows you guys to out number the journo so you have more control over the direction of the interview. bigger number may also help to disspell the idea of you as a minority group on the fringe of the larger "hoon" community.

two - geographically, i assume when you guys meet the cars are parked pretty close to each other perhapes 'displaying'

them? i also assume its in a small car park? if it is the way the cars are presented demonstrates that its a pride thing not a err 'full sick burnout' meet up. also if its small car park you have greater control over people coming in and actually doing burnouts as opposed to conducting the interview in a bunnings car park where there is lots of room for people to ruin the interview.

i don't know, i'm tired haha would be interesting to see if you guys can make a splash in the public sphere though

I'm not affraid of the boys, I'm affraid of the fat car tarts coming up for pics with the car and they sit on the bonnet and make a creator..but then again, You now need to be more wary of the grannie with their broom sticks....

I think I heard, (im almost certain) that when Dawn agreed to look at the car, she turned around to him and said, you should go and hang out with other people and talk about them, or something very very similar
