hi sau members

need help with installing my hks dli twin power into my gtr

i have the loom coming from the twin power unit that goes to the ignitor but do i need anything else?

and which spark plugs should i be using with this unit?

did u get the loom made specific for RB26? or just the loom that came with the CDI kit?...if u have the specific loom just plugging it in, n loacting a place for the unit.

if not the if will have to splice in the orig loom, which can be a bit of a pain.

and spark plugs everyone has their own preference, ive got NGK platniums.

hope that helps

i am having ignition breakdown problems. i am running super spark coils on my motor and getting spark blowout. does anyone know if this hks twin power could solve my problem or do i need to get a CDI. Im running a rb26 @ 2 bar on E85 with a Vipec ECU running wasted spark. thanks

I don't see many people supporting super spark coils. See if you can borrow a set of new OEM coils or Splitfires and see if that fixes your problem.

Seems like afew high powered high boost cars run them...you may need to get it wired properly

Or run good coilpacks as stated above..

On a side note how much did you pick the twin spark up for?

Loose the 'super cheaps/sparks' coil packs and get some splitfires or oem coilpacks.

Go through the usual wiring checks and upgrades.

Make sure you gap the plugs down to .7mm

I personally didn't go with an HKS dli... It's a bit gimmicish.

Cheers

Justin

I went to a cdi unit.

Took my Twin spark off and ran a Unigroup Ignitor box, runs a lot better.

Waste of time.

In what way does it run better?

I thought the hks twinpower was a good unit, there is a lot of good results with them.

Is the Unigroup box a cdi?

I've been through 3 sets of coils with that stupid thing.

One set lasted less than 2000 kms. Ripped it off and no problems.

The Unigroup box is a ignitor replacement.
