I'm looking around for a bodykit for my black gtt and really like the look of this kit but the only place that seems to have it is carmate but I'd prefer not to go to these guys as their rep is anything but good

This is the kit in question http://carmate.com/product_details.php?pro...S&p_id=9948

Does anyone know if this kit has any other name oither than 'OT Style' ?? Any other suppliers/fitters in Sydney ? Cheers

I'm looking for the whole kit not just side skirts ... so is the above rear/front bar also 'impul' ?

Edit: quick googlezor actually shows yep, that whole kit is 'IMPUL' http://www.impul.co.jp/products/complete/r34.skyline.htm

Cheers, that makes searching for another seller much easier.

Found another seller too ... http://www.jracing.com.au/product.php?pid=34

Fark, doesn't look so good on a black GTT (I have a black one) or maybe it's just their crappy shots and the fact that r34 has no wing :D

HAHAHAHAHAH! yeah it looks pretty bad for some reason. i advise you to go either genuine nismo, or bomex, or do-lucks or top secret.

yeah back to the drawing board methinks ...

I'd still like to see a black gtt with the full impul kit though .. the one pictured above at the jracing web site doesn't do it justice I think with that cheesy silver mesh, no wing and bad pics. I'll never understand why some retailers put so little effort in advertising their goods, it's as if they want to turn people off from buying..grr

Having said I do like the side profile look even on that jracing one .. I wish they had better shots of front and rear though

dude pm gr34tt and alien they both have it, you cant have a better looking kit without gettin a gtr face on her on a blak car

j racing is in canberra and is the only seller i could find...1000 for the kit or ebay

I've just looked at gr34tt's one and he only has one photo in the forums and that's a factory nismo front bar (no other shots) Alien has the impul front bar with black mesh which looks pretty good but he has no side skirts whatsoever and has a nismo factory rear bar. I don't think there's anyone with the full impul kit on a black gtt (I've already gone through that R34 photos thread twice ..all 20+ pages of it ugh)

JSAI (trader) are apparently releasing a couple of GTT kits soon so I'm gonna wait a bit and see what those turn out to be like.

Just wanna say one thing though ... if I had a WHITE gt-t there's no other kit I'd even consider. The impul looks so damn good on all the white gtt's I've seen.

were they genuine items or fibreglass?

does anyone know how much the genuine plastic IMPUL side skirts for an R34 GTT cost ? I have the carmate ones installed and while the fit is good they've managed to crack them in 2 corners while fitting, leave a couple of gaps etc .. and I'm fretting everytime passengers get in/out of the car just waiting for someone to snag on the passenger sideskirts and crack it good

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
