Hey guys i was just wondering where you get your skylines serviced, in particular gtr's? I got my gt-t serviced at unley nissan and they did a good cheap at a decent price but was just seeing where other people went, im sure this has been covered before but couldnt be bothered searching! my car had its 50,000km service done in japan in november last year so looking for somewhere to carry on with the logbooks from then. any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Like many have said, a genuine nissan service will give you a good logbook, but you'll pay thru the nose. There are some great 'tuner' based mechanics around, such as Boostworx and Tillbrooks, however for my money I go to Road n Track (Gil Camerons workshop), as I've been with them for a long time and they've never let me down... theyre close to me (tillbrooks is closer) but I've had nothing but top service from the guys at road n track. Theyve done a lot of street machines, sprint cars, exotics and their fair share of imports too... the guys who work there are really into the job, most of them race either sprint cars or targa tassie, couple guys do the adelaide classic.... if any of u guys have heard of charlie kovacs, his car was built by these guys..

Going back there in a month to get a stupid amount of stuff fitted. ECU, cam gears, gauges, clutch, gearbox, fuel lines. It wont be cheap, but it'll be cheaper than some, and Im really happy with the tunes that Ive gotten there. Check my sig :P

if you want to go by the book and get ripped off (most places) go to the dealers, if not theres plenty of other mechanics who would do services for a lot less boostworx, tilbrook, hitech dyno tune these guys work on jap imported cars every day

hope it helps

For known quality service go to known workshops like ones mentioned in this thread... for pretty logbook and having your car worked on by f**k knows who go dealers.

I personally do what I can and what I cant I take it to any known workshops that can get the work done soonest.

im pretty sure there isn't one thing i haven't done to a car in the way of services, manual conversions, engine conversions, turbo conversions, injectors, suspension, wiring looms (from the start), custom manifolds, exhausts, diffs, clutches, full rebuilds (now doing rotarys) trans and tuning!! but when it comes down to it unley nissan have information and equipment for these cars that no one else does, their technicians need to go learn about each car etc, so if i didn't do it all myself i would go to unley nissan for a service anyday. They are qualified and in the game, They get beaten down to their knees if a vehicle comes back with issues.

Thats cool then - personally though I would feel better taking my car to a known reputable workshop that has been tried and proven... but seeing people talking highly of Unley Nissan I may consider them for future references.
