i have a blitz ebc and i cant seem to set it correctly to make reasonable boost without surging.

Im running a 3540 (internally gated) on an rb20 with mods to support some boost. Im aiming for around 22 psi without surge. Anyone know where abouts the gain and boost settings need to be? I cant seem to work it out.

Thanks

I havent install mine yet but...

Press menu, then select the boost menu by pressing the dial. Here you can select the boost channel, set auto / manual and set the set and gain.

By surge, do you mean a boost "spike" as it ramps onto boost and overshoots the target boost?

...could you fire one of those my way...

Hey dood, the link was to WA's Xspeed They have a good assortment of PDF's. They dont seem to have one for the i-Colour though :)

Incidently, i cannot reach that page anymore. I think they detected something accessing the PDF file directly- whoops! sorry xSpeed :D

overshoot is normal when you fiddle with the settings until it sorts it self out. it surges up and down, maybe 3 psi total, so 1.5 above and 1.5 below say 16 psi. When i view the graph of the boost i can see it easily, and i can feel it. Is there a chart i should be using to adjust the boost ratio to achieve a certain psi? for example, i can adjust the gain and the boost settings to whatever i like, but for example, for 20 psi should i have the gain set at ten and the boost at 75?

I'm sure someone who's set one up can shout out, im just thinking aloud. From using others, the numbers needed to get the target boost is different per turbo / waste gate / setup.

The gain number required, is a balance between getting the turbo to ramp as hard as possible but not overshoot.
