yeah, the car was fine on the last track day, but i have since heard some bad stories about GTR's on street tyres... i dont wanna have to buy a new RB26. :)

I think I may be a case of the old sump Baffle & or no surge protector. 12 trackdays no sump baffle or surge restrictor, on street tyres. Last year EC warm up lap BANG! broken inlet valve #3 right beside where the surge protector shim goes?

On inspection nothing except a metal fatigue caused from surges of hot and cold oil could explain. $4k for a new engine, $1k to repair turbo (Inlet valve squeezed past the Outlet valve made its way out to the turbo), $4k for the labour, $5k on go fast & track longevity bits. Two parts which were included, a sump baffle and a restrictor shim $500.

I think so many thing can go wrong at anytime, there are other related factors such as heat, age of car, KM travelled, how hard a life it has had, its hard to say exactly what goes wrong.

If you don’t have things like a bigger radiator, oil cooler, larger oil pump, baffle, restrictor, I think personally you can limit your risk by keeping the RPM’s below 7000 and not to think you are playing PS2.

My thoughts only!

nah, its easy, after each session you just go to "GT Maintenance" and choose the oil change option. you see the black oil drain out and loevely freash green oil come in instead. Plus, you get back about 5% of horsepower and it only costs 250 credits

Sorry Oz I'll be taking the work vehicle out for a spin. I'll wave when I come past at around 4pm though.

;)

Well, the team was small today! at least there wasn't much traffic :D

2 cars go out, 2 retire with missfires :) I better post a "Help! Car hesitating when flooring it" thread.

See y'all at the next one

Yea what a pain in the arse that was,,,,Fancy getting a miss-fire in 5th at 200kmh and then it just got worse,,,. Thats the 1st problem I've ever had with her in almost 2 years of ownership. Oh well at least I got to kick some rexy butts.

Neil.
