Definately. The best way to start off is in a stock car.

It's all about the driving, not the car. I've seen pro drivers in Echo's put some hi powered cars to shame.

How about tyre, brake and so on???? Do I have to prepare anything special??? cause mine is just drivable

A handy thing would do is bleed the brakes and clean it out. It helps quite a bit.. Just make sure all your oils are topped up. Inside is clean and a wheel alignment helps too.

Ok a dumb question for all those track experts out there, got my semi slicks today, they each have respective marks on them for LF LR RF RR, so I take it they are uni directional? and obviously the tyre shop will need to put the respective tyre on the respective rim?

Hmmm I've never seen those marks on tyres before, but thats not saying its not right.

If thats what it says on the tyre I would go along with it though.

Maybe someone else can help?

I would suggest bleeding the brakes sugus. Maybe try some higher quality brake fluid too if the budget stretches. If not Just new standard fluid will work a treat.

It's looking more and more unlikely that I will be able to make it down for this - even just to watch. I've got my suit fittings for my wedding at 10am.

Wouldn't be able to get down there till around 12pm at the absolute earliest.

Yes they are unidirectional so yes the tyre shop should make sure they are put on the rims correctly.

Yes bleeding your brakes is one of the most important things you can do before the track day, as is putting an extra litre of oil in. Castrol Super Dot 4 from supercheap at about $11 will do the trick for brake fluid. If you are good you can bleed them with one bottle but get two to be sure.

Over filling the oil can also cause issues, including blow by.

Just to be sure that no one goes crazy over filling - I would only over fill by a bit past your "H" mark.

Take some oil with you if you are really concerned and check over the day.

Yes this is true and that's why only overfill by a litre and only reccomend that to others..

I am sure there will be plenty of oil around if people need to borrow some on the day.

It's a pretty common recommendation for RB's Jase. More oil than usual will be in the head due to the oil pump being able to move oil up there faster than it can drain down. This is done to protect the head but it can leave the bottom end unprotected. This is why big dollar rebuilds often include restrictors in the feeds and sometimes an external drain back. It's not like it's needed 90% of the time but it's just a little precaution that is cheap and easy to do.
