One other thing to remember - no business has ever made no mistakes - in fact most businesses make some sort of mistake every day.

In the years I have had a skyline I've been to at least 10 leading workshops and had mixed experiences. But in that time every single one of those workshops has had someone complain about them on SAU. Everyone makes mistakes - its how they resolve the issues that count as good customer service.

Exactly right mate.
I agree with most of the comments that have been made here about this issue, most of all that slandering any business on the forum puts the admin of the forum at risk, this same discussion about the rights and wrongs in the incident could have been had without mentioning names and would have still enpowered the complainant with moral and ethical support to pursue the relevant action with confidence.

What I don't agree with is that any business can take your order and your money and then deliver the wrong goods and say only sorry ,or in this case,it's not our fault, the manufacturer of the clutch or pressure plate cannot imo be held responsible for the wrong goods being sent, they only made the products and distributed them to the parts suppliers we buy off and it is the sellers responsibility to know their stuff enough to check it and send it to you knowing that it is correct.

I agree with Duncan that these things happen all of the time, far too much imo, and it's always muggins at the bottom of the pyramid that pays the costs in time and inconvenience which is clearly wrong, but I only accept overseas transactions as my problem when I get the wrong parts due to in most skyline cases to the language barrier which always lends itself to misunderstanding, and anyway most parts you import will be well sought after on this forum so easy to sell on.

Also to the suggestion of having the installer be inconvenienced by putting your car aside while the crap is sorted out is in most cases not an option for the installer both in tieing up hoists and valuable workshop space, and most workshops unless specialists in the particular vehicle don't want to stuff around ordering the parts, in case you don't end up using them to do the job or your car is there waiting to have the job done and tieing up space while they wait for the parts which very often are the wrong ones for workshops as well, they have a business to run too.

Lastly I agree with Saliya who though painting an extreme case scenario as to how far you could lawfully take these things ,seems to know the law and gives good advice regarding it,my advice to Slide would be to consider the options both in the amount of money at stake, the reasonable terms you have proposed, 50 percent, and future business with the forum members and re-imburse the small amount which could end up a lot uglier if taken further, and of course in the future be sure to check all goods thoroughly before sending them therefore being able to take responsibility for any mistakes made, just my 2 cents .Grey Pearl.

from NS:

Please note, "SLIDE" / "SLIDING PERFORMANCE" has NOT been a sponsor on this site for over 1/2 a year....

those purchasing from him must have been doing searches through really old posts if they are still buying from him, or must be getting his details through SAU.

I went through a while ago and removed most relevant posts, however dont have any current contact details on file for this trader..

I think he still trades on SAU, so i would recommend contacting him there.

why does sau continue to associate with sub standard sponsors/traders?

it seems that every second week theres a new 'slide screwed me' thread.

slide should pay for atleast half, if not all, the instalation costs.

the workshop installing the clutch is under no obligation to keep his car sitting in their shop, until slide decides to send the proper clutch kit. im sure like every other workshop. they have limited space and hoists, and want cars in and out as quickly as possible. slide, always seems to blame his distributors etc etc (especially with his turbos). but what he seems to not understand is that the forum members are not paying/dealing with the distributors, they are paying and dealing with SLIDE.

ok first of all this is not attack at SA.com

JEFF

i couldn't leave my car at the work shop as they wouldn't allow that for insurance reasons and the fact its been 2 weeks and i STILL haven't got my "replace meant" i think thats a lil too much to ask of the work shop to hold so i didn't question them when they said no too this.

dezz

i em not slandering him, i em asking for advice and help off yous , and the fact he has done wrong to so many i don't see why it should be locked.

Bomb track

do you know this for sure? i have never been in my place before so i em really walking blind atm

B1 Mr funny

it wasn't a option

spilmer

i just want what is mine + what is only reasonable and trust me i will tell every one the out come be it good or bad.

Saliya

you sound like you have been thru this before? and you sound like you know what your talking about.

QUICKY

yer i know and if my car was at a mates work shop but i need it done asap it would have been cool but like i said i been waitin 2 weeks now and still no clutch.

o and it gets better.

you want too talk about customer service?

i ring him he hardly ever answers and he has picked up before and i said hello and then he hung up on me....

i have tried smsing him and have NEVER BEEN REPLIED TOO.

i have tried leave voice msgs and NEVER get phone calls back.

he doesn't answer pm's

to make him pm i normally have to reply in his trading forum telling him too " please reply and fix the problem i only want what i paid for " etc

he has taken over 2 weeks to supplier my replace meant clutch...

and yer he still blames me coz the box wasn't marked and i didn't know it was a s15 clutch? yer nice.

like i said earlier as soon as more happen i will let EVERY one know be it good or bad.

are you f**king serious mate no way can you blame SAU for this they help where they can and have done so 1000 times over! ill mine my words from here onwards altho id like to spill abit more! how about you eat a dick?? ITS NOT SAU's FAULT WHATSOEVER

mate,

all im saying is that although SAU aint directly responsible, they cover for businesses who have bad comments, and they continue to let them troll these forums selln their shit, which ultimately results in more and more ppl gettn bad goods.

if this does turn out that slide was purposely avoiding this guy and selln shit goods, why on earth should SAU continue to have slide has a sponsered trader?

get my point dickhead?

like i said in my previous post, ive had nothign but good things happen with slide. im just speaking in general here.

I am afraid I think Duncan is right.

I think it would be totally up to Slide whether they reimburse you your installation money as an act of good faith, but not actually required by law.

Must be frustrating nonetheless. Sorry to hear you've had problems mate, car modding is expensive so mistakes tend to be expensive too

I think slide performance need a public relations officer. For $170 they have now had hundreds of people read this post and the one of ns.com. I would have paid the $150 no questions asked. I also own my own company and bad press like this is much worse than paying out $1000 let alone 50% of $341.

Just from this post I would not deal with them....why risk the chance of going through the stress.

warned r34nrg. personal attack. you are in for a long holiday if you keep going this way.

jenkies good choice to edit your post. lets all keep it to discussion not attacks.

monkeyboy....it has been discussed but each disagreement we have looked into gets resolved. As I said earlier every business makes mistakes.

yeh okai boss, the guy tells me to eat a dick, i tell him to f*k off. and i get the warn.

bs......... :D

wow johhny you have uncovered the conspiracy. bugger.

all admins and moderators are unpaid volunteers....so what exactly do you think we would get out of protecting traders, other than having to put up with rubbish threads like this one? As I said above we are enforcing forum rules, and the rules only exist to protect the forums (because people like you can't help yourselves) not the traders themselves. Of course people read these and other threads (good or bad) and make their own decisions

ya have to admit tho duncan that slide does not help his cause by refusing to answer his calls or sms or pm's about it tho .

one would have thought it would be im best intrest sake to sort it out b4 post like these where made in the first place .

ive brought from slide b4 and was dicked around a little nothing like this guy has tho but post like these really make me think twice b4 i would spend with him again /

cheers mid life crisis

duncan, i hold sau in very high regards. there's no way i, or (i assume) anyone else is blaming mods, or sau management for slide's or any other trader's fark ups.

but basically, it tarnishes the sau reputation, and i cant understand why the association continues.
